Fantastic place - the main house and grounds were absolutely gorgeous. Stayed in the new part of the hotel myself due to my lack of mobility - if i remember rightly, there weren't any lifts and l'd struggle carrying my bags up n down stairs. Lovely staff, nice pool, sauna and steam room. However, could definitely do with a relaxation area - some sunbeds around the pool perhaps. For a 3 star hotel, considering l actually believed it was 4, it really was exceptional value - great place to take your wife or girlfriend for a birthday surprise. Oh, also ample free parking - always a bonus, especially nowadays Highly recommended - Stace

The evening meal available consisted of a vegetarian or meat three course meal presented as a buffet.I thought the quality and value for money was excellent.Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and attentive as were all other staff in the hotel. I enjoyed my stay whilst attending a conference nearby.

Booked to stay here - was given a room with 2 small single beds instead of an executive double room. Room relatively clean but very tired and old. Light hanging down from ceiling in bathroom, door damaged from water, jacuzzi jets in bath looked dirty. Went for breakfast at 7am but was told breakfast wasn't available. When I asked when it would be was told that it would be served at 8am due to the chef turning up late. This contradicts what my colleague was told about 5 minutes later as they were told, breakfast would be available in about 5 minutes. We weren't allowed to enter the restaurant to have tea, coffee, juice, cereal, toast which would have been appreciated. As I was travelling, I had to leave as didn't have time to wait around for 1 hour. Staff didn't seem to enjoy working there and if you asked for anything, you were made to feel awkward.

didn't realise i was staying in such a cheap hotel, the photos and the price suggested it was a little more upmarket, not really the case. Majority of the electrics in the room didnt work, internet ready tv no internet, 3 wifi networks only 1 for public which didnt work, no signal on mobile phone so couldnt stream anything or carry out any work, electric fan broken during a heatwave with partially locked windows, bedside lamps didn't work nor did the wall lights near the bed so master panel by front door was the only option, elevator sounded like it would collapse at any given moment, opted to stick to the stairs and walk the 3 floors each time rather than risk it, the 3 course meal turned out to be a all you can eat buffet with the worse food known to man, genuinely prison food tasted better and thats saying something, the hotel food was all deep fried and sat under heat lamps for a few hours to really seal that old age flavour in, kitchen and waiting staff were really genuinely helpful and friendly however so there's a plus staff at reception were ok on approach but you could see they were probably treated like crap and hated their job's so all in all about up to standard when compared to an ibis hotel, id suggest a travel lodge instead of this place for a decent nights sleep with working electrics.

Apart from James in the bar who was so helpful and apologetic my experience was far from satisfactory. On the 1st night despite closing at 8.30 the restaurant ran out of food at 8.05. Eating at 7.15 the 2nd night I wished they had run out again. Being asked to purchase a voucher from reception before I could eat was ridiculous. There policy of not allowing anything to be charged to your room is outdated. Staying during two of the hottest days in June could account for the majority of staff being blunt and unhelpful. But basic common courtesy and some accountability for the terrible food would have been good. I would not stay again despite the low price. However externally the hotel and grounds are very nice. The two young gentleman on reception were helpful and sorted my room for the 2nd night. James on the bar went above and beyond with his service and politeness.

A very nice looking hotel, garden area was well maintained, not impressed by quality of the food for the evening meal , think we arrived in the restaurant after a coach party had eaten , virtually nothing left . The poached fish ?? Was fish in breadcrumbs & deep fried i would guess , managed to get a spoonful of runner beans , and some potatoes (fried again ) but not chips . Managed last piece of sponge for dessert . Went out to eat on second night as coach party still at hotel . Checked out after 2 day , lady behind desk didn’t even look up from her screen. Didn’t say thank you for staying or hope you enjoyed your stay etc just took our door card . Would I go back ??? It was cheap !.

The main rooms are in a brick built extension that looks more like a premier inn that a lovely lodge like the pictures!!! Water leak in the reception on arrival. Reception staff not that helpful in explaining breakfast times or how to get to the room. Executive double Room was clean on initially walking in, thought dated in its appearance. 2 bottles of water in the fridge that was switched off. Kettle. Coffee machine. Large pedestal fan. Windows had limited opening hinges and lock staps on the windows both opened due to the radiator being stuck on as the radiator thermostat valve was broken due to its age. Coffee sprayed on the roof and some big holes in the walls Limited wardrobe space due to trousers press and ironing board being in there as well. Bathroom was clean and tidy, but damaged mermaid board on the walls no glass and a missing toilet roll holder where again a disappointment. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BREAKFAST £9.99 a morning, coffee from single serving sachets. Bacon was bits, sausages where tray baked but not turned so white and skins peeling off, constantly running out of fried eggs beans tomato plates and you where lucky to get seated as they blocked half the dining area off. Plenty of Chesterfield seating areas. Over a 3 day stay the room was not cleaned or the coffes re-filled. Over all a disappointment, not what we thought we where getting, lack of cleaning, and the overall run down appearance lack of caring staff and poor food

The staff hardly spoke or were helpful at all only one said morning to us. We asked for extra pillows but these never arrived. We were told breakfast was from 7 but it was 8 and when we went at 7.50am we were met with sighs all in all it was one of the most expensive rooms I have ever booked and the worst customer service

Hotel booked last minute to attend a concert at Coventry Arena. Felt it was expensive for 1 night, but booked as previously booked property fell through. Walkable to the stadium (about 50 mins). Hotel looks good from outside but rooms need some updating. Some of the communal areas need a good clean and decorating. Free parking (need to register details) and a charge for the swimming pool. Room was large and clean. Door not soundproof. Nice grounds

Arrived at lunch time and on check in told “we don’t do food” for lunch. Not sorry sir im afraid we don’t offer lunch but - Don’t do food as a response was just rude. What was funny is there is a sign on the hotel door saying no food and drink to be brought into the hotel. Went to the bar where there was a sign up offering sandwiches so though oh maybe reception didn’t realise. Then got told by the bar staff that the menu was not for normal hotel guests and we werent allowed it. So again very rude as they were also offering Afternoon Tea if you had booked. Went to use the pool and changing rooms undergoing refurbishment which is fine but we were told to go and change in hotel room and come back. So they wanted us to walk through the hotel in swimming costumes from the 3rd floor. Again very odd and staff quite rude about this. The room itself was nice and clean and the hotel is set in some nice grounds, it’s a bit dated in areas which may explain some of the refurbishment but we had no warning of this. Disappointing stay, especially for the price, wouldn’t say this was value for money.

The room was clean and spacious, the girl on reception was cheerful, friendly and very helpful The only reason I marked the hotel down was because of the breakfast most of the items needed topping up and they had run out of bacon ( this was with still a hour still to go) also the morning staff didn’t seem very helpful The outside bar area also needs a bit of gardening maintenance The hotel setting was lovely and very convenient for the Coventry arena and very reasonable price
