A great old pub with rooms in the heart of the charming village of Lindfield. About a 10 minute drive by taxi or bus from Haywards Heath station. We had dinner at the pub the first night and it was excellent and good value for money we thought. We stayed two nights and a good breakfast was included the next morning. All though the pub looks like you would expect an old worldy English village pub to look like the rooms upstairs are pretty basic in contrast. You have everything you need for a night's stay but the rooms/bathrooms could use an upgrade. It would be great if they could look and feel a bit more like the rest of the pub. Due to the buildings age not an easy thing to do but it would definitely bring more to the experience. The staff were great. All super friendly and willing to help when they can. Couldn't have asked for more really.

The location and hotel itself is quaint and nice. However, the room wasn’t very good.
Our bedroom (3) had a small window with no curtain so it got light early and woke you up as it was high up in front of you.
The matress was lumpy and leaned to one side and very uncomfortable as were the pillows. I didnt get a good night sleep added to the light coming in.
The bathroom window was frosted on the bottom half but top half wasnt so fairly comical as you stood up a step to get to the sink and toilet. Light cord needs to be longer.
The bath although amusing to see a blancmange Shanks suit the bath was very worn you could see and requires replacing.
Coffee facilities and staff all good and helpful.
We had an average early start so missed out on breakfast and checking out we couldnt get in reception to leave the key.

The hall carpet just outside the door to the room that I was in was tucked so could be a trip hazard. Walls in the room need repainting.

Tired old looking accommodation
Few plugs so had to unplug the kettle to recharge the phone
No light bulb in the hall way so coming back late at night struggled to get the key in the door
However reported it to a domestic the next morning & was dealt with immediately
Couldn’t double lock my room door either & forgot to mention
To be fair it was very low priced and the location completely suited my needs

Aito monisatavuotias majatalo, jossa saattaa eläytyä hyvinkin historiaan. Alakerran pub on yhä kylän sydän ja ilatelämä mukavan letkeätä. Ruoka on varsin kelvollista ja aamiainen tarjoilitiin pöytään. Se oli erinomainen. Tällaisista hotelleista uskoisin kiertomatkalaisten juuri hakevan elämyksiä, joista ei Skandinaviasta saa ja suosittelen ehdottomasti.

Very friendly pub with rooms. Great staff, good beers and very good breakfast. Stairs and lobby areas a bit shabby but room was large, quiet and comfortable. Exceptional value for money in this area.

Overall Disappointed.
Food in pub was v good. Staff friendly.
Bed comfy, BUT room in dire need of updating and painting. Was drab and dreary with a filthy chair. walls in terrible state in room and bathroom.
Stated on my form that I was vegetarian and to reception desk but was given ham sandwich for my packed breakfast so therefore had no breakfast.
Would not stay here again.
