The rooms are very outdated I know it’s an old hotel but the furniture in the rooms was terrible. Needed a new toilet seat as one in my room was stained and limescale same as the bath Location is good and nice when you have a sea view. Personal preference would stay in a more updated hotel next time

The room was very dated and quite tatty, but it was clean and the bed was very comfy. There was some noise from the street but it was ok with the window closed. This may have been different on a warmer night as there's no air con.

My overall experience was great. The hotel is going through improvements scaffolding outside et cetera. Some of the hotel is very tired. The reception area is lovely. The staff are wonderful and is in a fantastic place for everything in Brighton. I’ve stayed there before and would stay there again I’m sure when everything has finished the hotel will be a wonderful place once again. Staff were very helpful.

The hottest hotel I have stayed in in years. The rooms are currently very dated but we were aware they are currently working on updating. The price does not currently reflect the quality of the rooms.

Lovely over night stay, everywhere was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good had all you needed

Very run down. Needs total refurb. Paint peeling off walls. Cobwebs everywhere. Rooms were so hot it was like sleeping in a furnace. Well over priced.

Staff at this hotel are so helpful and polite, hotel could really do with a lick of paint and a bit of TLC. Location is great parking off site

The professionalism of the front of house staff made my check in very smooth . I am very pleased with the “ language “ used . No team members , they refer to each other respectfully by addressing each other as collègues . I like this approach . The lady in the front desk has it all going on , in her busy busy day , she took time to recognise me and wave as I entered the lift . I look forward to returning soon . Thank you for an enjoyable stay .

First of all, the hotel is a very old building, and there was a musty smell in the corridors. On the same street, there are many other hotels with the same view and price, but they are much better maintained. The room itself was okay and clean, but it was HORRIBLY HOT. It got to the point where we had to go outside for fresh air in the middle of the night, around 2–3 a.m. Even after that, we couldn’t go back to our room, so we stayed in the lobby because it was cooler and ended up falling asleep on a chair there. The room had a ceiling fan, but it was very slow and there was no way to adjust its speed. We asked reception for a portable fan or something similar, but they said they had run out because all fans had already been given to other rooms. Check-in was quick, the breakfast was average, and the location was great—close to the beach and the Lanes. However, as mentioned, there are many other hotels in the same area that are better maintained. I understand that these buildings are old and that many hotels in the UK don’t have air conditioning, but providing a portable fan or cooling unit is the bare minimum a hotel could do for each room. Saying they had no fans left because they had all been given to other rooms is simply unacceptable and it completely ruined our experience.

Veldig slitt og gammelt hotell som har sett sine beste dager. Hjelpsomt personale, men håpløst gammeldags. I tillegg ekstremt varmt da vi var der, slik at det ble begrenset med søvn. Solen stod rett på rommet helt til kl 20:30, og uten AC ble det veldig varmt.

The deluxe sea view room was spacious, the groove around the table was dirty it looked like bits of food in there, the rest was quite clean. It was very old fashioned and in need of a bit of TLC. the view however was amazing & staff were very friendly & helpful. We was told about the renovations but we wasn't informed of there being no pool table and a makeshift bar that doesn't have any beer pumps. I would say 2 3rds of the hotel was shut so the room to sit downstairs was very limited. So we were quite disappointed and spent very little time in the hotel

The room was spacious and nicely decorated. The hotel itself is in a lovely spot by the sea front with great access to anything you could need.

Lovely location, staff fantastic. Bathroom in the room was a bit tired looking, but still acceptable.

room was clean and tidy, had room with view of beach a little noisy with passing traffic and other beach goers, breakfast was usual self service and plenty to go round and lots of chose, unfortunately some of hotel was of limits during to going through upgrade

First of all understand hotel is going though a refurb , staff are friendly and polite. Room was spacious and beds were comfortable everything clean . But room was. A bit tired and the shower want great as the head kept on slipping down. Breakfast was average where as normally it’s great. I do think the breakfast was down to the refurb of the normal breakfast room but the actual rooms really do need a refresh and some tlc .

We had a peaceful night sleep, shame we had to leave early as we weren't aware it was the London to Brighton race. We would stay again

Friendly staff, great location. Just about to start the renovations..... In desperate need of it too.

Personable & friendly staff, warm welcome and accommodated quickly-disappointed we were not advised of the severe refurbishment & lack of parking offered which we would normally take advantage of& not reflected in the nightly cost, however, clean & tidy and we have used several times in past
