Lovely great meal and breakfast pib and staff excellent room average

Bit of a cheap and cheerful go-to place when seeing friends in and around Lingfield. Rooms and decor are a bit tired these days but comfortable nonetheless. Good pub grub and ambience and walkable to alternative Indian and Thai restaurants in the village. Annoying bright green fire exit lights in the room I stayed in so bring your blackout mask!

The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was a little dated but it was very clean. The beds were comfortable ant the pillows were good. In the bar, the food was good.

Good value pleasant stay with friendly staff and great food. Room large and well furnished but windows old and couldn't some.

The parking was easy. You just register it in the bar when you check in. It was a simple room. Stairs up to the rooms. We stayed here to go to the airport.

The room was great, decent size, very clean etc, but the fire exit sign lit the whole room all night and there was just constant noise from within the hotel and outside, and for this reason, I would not stay again, even though the room and pub was amazing!

The exterior room was a bit basic with no wardrobe/hanging space , and bathroom area was also tiny. So for room only it was a bit pricey

The Star inn pub and restaurant was great for food choice ambiance etc The rooms are in need of refurbishment Our room had chairs which were ripped Bed uncomfortable Bathroom in dire need of upgrade Bath marked , shower screen dirty and blind black possibly mould from Condensation

Outside room was quiet as was away from main pub. But the green beam of light over the door (from the fire detection system? ) lit the room up and made it hard to sleep. Also I'd not given consideration to aeroplanes going overhead all night.

A very nice place to stay. This is not a tourist destination but the nearby area is very nice and worth a walk. There is a very nice pub at the hotel and we eat well. The room was very nice and clean.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay most agreeable. Kachia sorted out our arrival request and the rest of the staff were most attentive, helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at the Star again!

Pub food was good, room was basic but it’s what we expected really! It’s fine for a night before the airport! Would I stay again .. probably.

Stay here on regular basis when visiting my brother in Lingfield. Great pub and great food. Rooms comfy and convenient, I particularly like having the exterior rooms .

We stayed for one night as I had an early morning appointment at the Queen Victoria hospital which was just a 10 minute drive from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is part of a public house which is huge with loads of outdoor space with seating and a kids well equipped play area. We ordered an evening meal which was delicious and despite it being extremely busy our meals were delivered promptly. Breakfast was an extra cost but worth it if you like a large meal but probably not worth the price if you just wanted cereals and toast, having said that the breakfast menu offered a good selection. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay, the only gripe we had was that there was no hot water when we got up so due to a tight schedule we had to make do with a couple of sinks of boiling water from the kettle but I’m sure if we had more time it would have been sorted. I would stay here again as it was value for money and offered everything we needed.

A very popular pub, so parking difficult. Typical pub food and breakfast allowed no cheaper concession for 'continental'.
