Second stay at the star inn. Basic room food excellent.easy access to airport. Would return

Stay here on regular basis when visiting my brother in Lingfield. Great pub and great food. Rooms comfy and convenient, I particularly like having the exterior rooms .

We stayed for one night as I had an early morning appointment at the Queen Victoria hospital which was just a 10 minute drive from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is part of a public house which is huge with loads of outdoor space with seating and a kids well equipped play area. We ordered an evening meal which was delicious and despite it being extremely busy our meals were delivered promptly. Breakfast was an extra cost but worth it if you like a large meal but probably not worth the price if you just wanted cereals and toast, having said that the breakfast menu offered a good selection. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay, the only gripe we had was that there was no hot water when we got up so due to a tight schedule we had to make do with a couple of sinks of boiling water from the kettle but I’m sure if we had more time it would have been sorted. I would stay here again as it was value for money and offered everything we needed.

A very popular pub, so parking difficult. Typical pub food and breakfast allowed no cheaper concession for 'continental'.

There on business for one night. The food was very good service very good. The room was nice and clean. The bed was not the most comfortable.

Convenient for our visit to Ardingly. Friendly staff. Accompaniment small but adequate for our overnight stay.

Lovely little pub with great atmosphere and food options a few mins walk from little village centre or rail service into London

Clean, comfortable bed, spacious room, quiet surroundings in pretty, old part of Lingfield. Lovely hot water. Good breakfast & helpful staff. Could do with a chair in room & shower rather dribbly. Enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Great little place, I’ve stayed lots of times, it’s convenient for me visiting my brother who lives round the corner! Clean and great food in the lovely pub. Cracking Sunday roast. X

I had a comfy bed. Heating was easily controlled. Very basic accommodation but had good tea/ coffee facilities. Very small shower but adequate. Seemed to be a lovely popular pub in a lovely area and a footpath were you could go for a walk but I wasnt there long enough to enjoy any of these things. There is some frequent noise from planes going to Gatwick but I took my earplugs. I would certainly stay again because I was very happy there and felt safe even though I was a lady on my own in one of the exterior rooms.

Really beaitiful country pub with a fantastic selection of drinks. The menu was varied and our meals were very well cooked. The waiter was great and we enjoyed our time in the pub itself. The room we had was a twin, unfortunately there were no double bed rooms left but thats ok. The beds were comfortable and clean. The room was well decorated, clean and we had tea and coffee facilities. A nice clean bathroom. All round good value. We were offered the chance to book breakfast in the morning but declined and regretted that!

Convenient location for Gatwick in a lovely village. Found the room (in the yard) too stuffy for a refreshing sleep but this may be particular to me as I prefer airy cool sleeping conditions

Picked as overnight stay before flying from Gatwick. Great choice - lots of parking, great pub with really good food. Nice en-suite double. Lovely staff. Will use as a stopover again.

Good cheap place to stay for the airport. Gatwhick is about 20 minutes away..Clean and basic.

Central Lingfield gastro pub with large car park, comfortable accommodation and a decent restaurant. Close to village centre and railway station. Good value. Recommended.

Good stay, basic but comfortable. Had a room in the outside annex. It was awkward trying to get in and out of the bath to have a shower, there were no grab bars and the top of the bath was quite high.

We didn't realise it was under the flight path for Gatwick. With out double glazing it was quite noisy. It was a pleasant stay but I expect the windows are drafty in the winter
