The whole hotel has excellent facilities, great food, lovely clean rooms with freshly laundered bed linen and towels
Lovely en-suite bedroom nice and warm on arrival
Bar and restaurant fabulous, with great service at breakfast and evening dinner, bar prices and food are very reasonable, and very friendly staff
Best place we have stayed at and will be going back, would highly recommend this hotel within a ten minute walk into York town centre

Excellent location. We managed to get a free parking space just down the road. Just a short walk into the city. We had a big room at the front overlooking the street and garden with a huge bay window. Very clean. Breakfast was wonderful. They cater for everyone including vegans, which was a bonus and the table service was very quick. Food was hot and delicious. Staff were all very polite.
The only negative was the extremely firm mattress, which I struggled with., but it wouldn't stop us staying again.

Dirty tiles in the bathroom, dirty plug hole in the sink, big cobwebs in the bathroom.
Evening meal was very good, potatoes weren’t very tasty and there was only one vegetable which was very undercooked broccoli

A home away frome! Probably the warmest welcome Ive had at a hotel - the single room I had was compact but felt larger due to the thought through furnituring. The breakfast and service was brilliant! Cant recommend it more!

Morning and afternoon were marvellous. Evenings were understaffed. No snacks (sandwiches) available despite briefing pack claiming up to 8pm. Barmaid/receptionist marching past queue of 5 customers waiting at bar without acknowledging or explaining.

It was an extremely varied breakfast with lots of choices. Staff excellent and very friendly, they couldn't do enough for you. We loved the welcome cup of tea/coffee. It was handy for train station, shops and York museum
