Wheatlands Lodge is a family run Hotel. The care and detai to making ltheir customers comfortable is very evident. The Hotel's decor and fittings fit sympathetically with the architecture and period of the building. The staff that we had contact with were all very polite and helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Hotel to anyone

The staff did every thing that could do to make our stay wonderful. If I ever come back to England I will stay at the Wheatland Lodge.

Fabulous stay at Wheatlands Lodge. Every single member of the team were professional, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.
Unfortunately on arrival our allocated room didn’t match our expectations and we were moved to an alternative room without a problem.
The hotel is approximately 20 minutes walk from the train station. As it is located outside the centre it is extremely quiet.
The room was well equipped and spacious.
Breakfast was excellent as were the waiting staff.
The on site bar was a welcome addition.
It was a very relaxing stay and I would recommend it.
My only negative was the pillows but I’m very fussy about pillows!
There are a lot of stairs and no lift so if you have a mobility problem it would be advisable to book a ground floor room.

This is a nice hotel in good location. They have free parking and that is a plus. The host works very hard to see that you have a good stay. The breakfast area is rather busy with a fixed breakfast that is not self serve.. As in many of these stately hotels in England, you have to struggle up three flights of stairs with your luggage as there is no lift. I think it is some kind of law in England about what you can and cannot do with your hotel but I don't know. If you have any mobility issue you better check with the hotel before you book.

On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The bed was very comfortable too, i had 2 great nights sleep. Parking was tricky, but the staff went above and beyond to get us a spot.
The only 'dislike" was the shower/bath. It was very high and a little worrying getting out as there was no grab rail to help. Other than that 10/10

We were welcomed by very friendly staff, everything was explained including car parking. Breakfast and dinner were superb. During our four night stay staff were very helpful and attentive, we would definitely return and would recommend this hotel.

Traditional, mid-range hotel with a decent cooked breakfast included in the rate. Nice, traditional hotel bar and very reasonably priced. It’s laurel and hardy themed (hence the review title eh). 15 min walk from the city centre (walk to mickelgate and walk along the wall into town).

Excellent hotel. Will use it again when in York. Small hotel car park at the rear is perfect and secure with cctv. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb.
