The bedroom was very hot and would have benefitted from air conditioning, shower was complicated

Love the Wykeham Arms. We worked here in the 90s and they were really welcoming and gave us the best experience. The place hasn’t changed and the service and food is still top notch!

The building was very old with a lot of character. The room was clean and had a fridge. The room and en suite were on the smaller size due to the nature of the old building. The breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly. It is in a brilliant location on top of the Catherdral close with a small car park . Well worth a visit.

The room was somewhat warm and could have used an extra fan at least. However it was comfortable with a decent sized bathroom. We appreciated the London Pride beer in the fridge! Breakfast was delicious; we didm’t eat lunch or dinner there.

We loved our stay here at the Wyckham arms. Our room was clean and beautiful and well appointed. The food and the staff were exceptional. The end was quaint and historical and although bustling with activity, it was a very quiet and lovely place to stay. Beds were great. Great! Toiletries were great. We loved it

The Wykeham Arms is a lovely pub with good good and it is a great place to except for the car-parking.

Very atmospheric hotel in a fantastic position close to the Cathedral Close. Great old-fashioned decor. Excellent breakfast.

Great location for accessing town, cathedral and walking along river itchen. Pub food and drinks were delicious! Be aware the stairs to the rooms are quite narrow and steep to climb and rooms can get quite warm if the weather is cooperating and sun is out.

Room was good. However bed was a hard mattress. Staff excellent and a good choice for breakfast. Sloe service for evening meal and food disappointing.

You are living in a structure with tons of history. It is updated to a point but wants to always maintain its history. Quaint rooms that tell a story and transport you back in time. Breakfast was great and staff very accommodating.

Great service and a beautiful room - we stayed in the bakehouse garden suite. Did was delicious and the bar was quirky with friendly and very helpful staff. Will stay again

The Room was very big as was the en suite bathroom. It was spotlessly clean. It had a mini fridge, which provided fresh milk for tea/coffee which was a nice touch and a bottle of cold water. Breakfast choice was excellent and very tasty. We would not hesitate to stay here again

From start to finish this was a cut above. I arrived early but was still able to access the car park and when staff heard I'd travelled a long way I was offered a reviving cup of coffee. The menu looked great (as did the beers on offer) but as I was attending an all day event I didn't get to try the Wykeham Pie. I did have breakfast which was excellent and extremely good value. My single room was comfortable, clean and perfect for a short stay. Staff were always on hand and incredibly helpful. The atmosphere was welcoming, friendly and the memorabilia in the bars fascinating. As for the loo......a work of art. Without any hesitation I would come back and highly recommend. Hospitality at its best.

Absolutely fantastic - the rooms are lovely, the bar area is also really nice, the staff were super friendly and the food is great!

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We had an upgrade on our room which was lovely and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant and great breakfast before we left - all cooked perfectly.

The wykeham is ideally placed for exploring Winchester its only a 5 minute walk to the Cathedral and the city centre. The staff were friendly and approachable at all times. Our room Kelsey was large and comfortable with a good shower. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

Lunch was wildly expensive but breakfast was good. It would have been helpful to know we were on the 3rd floor no elevators and tiny circular stairs. For those with some mobility challenges it’s a hike!

Charming pub with lots of character. Stayed in the luxury double which was very comfortable with a lovely roll top bath and a shower with good power. Nice touch of homemade shortbread and a plentiful selection of tea and coffee in the room. The food in the restaurant was also delicious. Great place to stay for exploring Winchester

I booked a single room as I was travelling solo and only staying for 1 night. Check in is in The Wykeham Arms itself and then I was shown across the street to my accommodation. I was on the top floor in a room named La Boite - something to consider if you have suitcases with you, it’s an old building with narrow, steep stairs. My room was perfect for a solo traveler - very comfy single bed, bathroom equipped with full sizes of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, hand lotion. Room amenities were a Nespresso machine with selection of coffee pods, coffee mug, kettle with selection of teas, tea cup/saucer, a fridge with fresh milk (no UHT rubbish here!) a big bottle of water and a full size Fullers London Pride (plus bottle opener) a dish of freshly made shortbread, TV, ironing board, hanging space, bedside radio. The windows had both blinds and curtains (as a light sleeper this was very much appreciated). An info folder contained lots of useful information if you don’t know Winchester, dinner and breakfast menus. I had a table booked for a group dinner (11 of us) which was in its own room, we were very well looked after, food was incredible (chef Luke Emmes is a very talented man) and the wine list extensive. The pub itself has a lovely, welcoming feel and is dog friendly. We all had a great evening. Breakfast is back in the restaurant area and again the food was delicious, good buffet or hot menu cooked to order. All the staff were lovely, I’d definitely stay again.

Great central location with car parking. Wonderful food. Staff all professional and welcoming.
