if you have kids ages babies to I would say 12 this would be the ideal place , quaint intimate and gives parents especially SINGLE MOTHERS A break .They have snorkeling that comes with your stay, scuba if you want I think .. access to an amazing beach off the side of the property.. The food is great and they will work with your children food needs . Both of my children are autistic and Ms.Trudy who was their nanny was the most amazing person ever, my children who are 4.5 and 7.5 adores her and their stay .This is perfect for autism families TBH , safe small resort easy layout and a steady routine . ALSO YOUR NANNY CAN GO ON THE EXCURSIONS WITH YOU IF YOU WANT . The staff hands down is the best .. From Ms chrissy, Sammy, shanquie, davian and I cant forget the kids favorite ALEX ... tip accordingly and generously, the staff deserves it and then some .. they have mango tree and coconut trees .. I mean there is soo much that I cant even remember. Oh and there and ATM and small market in walking distance.. Oh there's kayaking also ...

Pro and cons. My plan was to sit at the resort and not do anything else. Pros Round trip airport shuttle Food included/drinks Clear beach next door Boat/kayak Lifeguard on deck Cons Didn’t feel welcomed when dining there. The servers weren’t very friendly. There are more pros than cons, but I know customer service can either make or break your trip. This was definitely a break moment. Would I stay here again, no.

This is an older resort but it’s authentic to Jamaica. The staff were amazing!!! If you want to feel the relaxed feeling of being home, this is definitely the place to be. The food was delicious and the drinks were very good. The beach was tiny but nice. There’s a larger beautiful beach for people who want something bigger. The large pool was great and the water slide was really fun. We loved it that the resort was small. We will definitely be returning!! One love!!

The staff was excellent, made us feel welcomed and always checking in on us to see if we're ok. Shout out to the front desk for upgrading my room so that I didn't have to share bed with my mom. Shout out to the kitchen/dining staff also for making my mom's birthday special ❤️

Not as expected. Staff are very pleasant and well groomed. Nothing was open. Pool was never cleaned had to wait to get in and when it did get cleaned it rained. Not much food to choose from.

With the possible exception of some places in Italy, I have NEVER been to such a child-friendly environment. The staff were incredible and made us feel like home. It was like staying in a Jamaican uncle's house on the beach. We will definitely go back!

My family and I had a great time here. It is much smaller than I’m used to but the kindness and smiles from everyone who worked there certainly made up for that. The service staff went above and beyond everyday and always had a smile to give. The food was great and we enjoyed sampling some Jamaican food. The jerk chicken and hand breaded onion rings were enjoyed daily by us. We would certainly return if we come back to Runaway Bay in the future!

The property is an amazing vacation destination with family. Super family friendly and oriented. Staff is really attentive. Nannies for the kids are very good and the property has great entertainment. The property has suffered Hurricane damage. But they are working on getting everything back in order. Highly recommend for a good, relax away vacation where you and the kids can both relax and enjoy.

Beautiful location

The beach view was absolutely stunning. The property is still working through a few remodels after the hurricane in November 2025, but it didn’t take away from the experience. What truly makes this place special is the staff and the owner. They are some of the kindest people you’ll meet and make you feel like part of the family from the moment you artive

Now I tried to give this property grace because the employees are so sweet. The managers and staff truly Are understandable. This property was far below my standards. You have to be accustom to staying at like a Red roof Inn in the states to be comfortable here. Ants on the bed biting me at night. Rust and peeling of paint. No care given to the property grounds. The bar had basically no drinks. No grill guy cooking with no gloves and scratching every part of his body. I’m in the medical field and was severely disgusted. What was suppose to be a 4-5 night stay ended up being a one night and left to go to Moon Palace. Where it felt like a breath of fresh air. Back to this resort— the slide looked as if it needed renovation. Horrible condition. The beach access was minimal and filthy. Nothing was neat and nothing looked like the pictures. It took me a while to do this review because I want all businesses to make money but this one is for people looking to getaway with the bare minimum. The food was HORRIBLE my kids described it as eating cardboard. Like eating just to get full because nothing had a taste. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. But the staff was understanding to my standards and allowed me to depart. The check-in process was still on paper. Like literally where is the money going—not in improving the facility. They blame it on the hurricane come like the hurricane should have just take it away. The blame Wi-Fi, food, light, everything on the hurricane.

Only 1 restaurant open, it rained one night and water came into the room from the ac and roof that flooded the bedroom floor causing my daughter to fall and hurt her knee and elbow as she got off the bed, i reported this to the stuff and all they did was to clean the floor. outdated infrastructure, small rocky beach making unsuitable to swimming , and inconsistent food quality. Old and stained loungers, and poor water pressure . Stray cats in dining areas, children play area grounds are unkempt with debris making it dangerous for children. This felt mostly like a Motel or an unkempt camp rather than a resort. The nanny services was the primary draw but i was very disappointed because our assigned nanny did not make any effort to make a connection either us but rather was socializing with another family she wasn’t assigned to.

I recently sent my mom to Franklyn D. Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica to celebrate her 69th birthday, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience she had there. From the moment she arrived, the staff treated her like royalty. Everyone was incredibly warm, welcoming, and attentive. They truly went above and beyond to make her birthday special. They decorated her chair with beautiful gold and black balloons and surprised her with a full birthday cake. What touched me even more was their kindness when she wasn’t feeling well one day—someone from the resort personally took her to the pharmacy to make sure she was okay. That level of care meant the world to me. Franklyn D. Resort may not advertise itself as a five-star luxury hotel, but the treatment and hospitality they provide is absolutely five-star. If you are traveling with family, kids, celebrating a birthday, or even sending an elderly loved one to relax, you can rest assured they will be in good hands—even if traveling alone. Thank you to the amazing team at Franklyn D. Resort for making my mom’s birthday unforgettable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for genuine Jamaican hospitality and heartfelt service.
