이 호텔이 정말 마음에 들어요. 침실, 욕실, 분위기, 전망까지 모든 게 다 좋았어요. 조식과 룸서비스도 선택지가 다양해서 정말 좋았어요. 직원들은 친절하고 도움이 많이 됐고, 특히 리셉션과 초인종 소리가 좋았어요. 꼭 다시 올 거예요.

말레이시아 관세청의 발표에 따르면, 2023년 1월 1일부터 말레이시아 비거주자 또는 비영주권자를 대상으로 관광세가 부과됩니다. 호텔에서 체크인 시 관광세를 징수할 예정입니다. 관광세는 객실당 1박당 10 RM입니다.
일반 체크인 지침
A Tourism Tax of MYR 10 nett per room, per night applies to foreign passport holders arriving from 1 January 2023 onwards. This is collected by the hotel on behalf of the government upon check-in, and is not included in your total room cost. All Malaysian Nationals and Permanent Residents are exempted. The Penang State Government has implemented a mandatory “Hotel Fee” (Local Government Fee) of MYR 3 nett per room per night. The Hotel Fee will be collected upon check-in.
To ensure the highest standards of safety, a mandatory power maintenance exercise is scheduled for Tuesday, 21 July 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM. During this 2.5-hour period, the main electricity supply will be temporarily unavailable. Please rest assured that essential services, including guest lifts and emergency exit lighting, will remain fully operational. We are sharing this notice in advance so you can plan your time accordingly, and we warmly welcome you to still book and stay with us on this date if the brief disruption fits your schedule. Our team will be fully available to ensure your stay remains as comfortable as possible.

This is my second at this property.The room and facilities are modern and relatively new and well kept. However, the staff needs to be better trained.
On the last day of our stay (our rooms had late checkout), we went back to the rooms to prepare for checkout, but we were locked out of the room. We went down to reception and the staff said she fixed the issue, so we went back up again only to find the keys still didn't work. So we went to reception again and was told it was fixed for the 2nd time. Upon reaching the room, the keys still didn't work. We had to go to reception for the 3rd time before we can finally enter the rooms. The staff didn't apologise or make any effort to call for additional assistance and was quite indifferent to the situation.
We stayed at so many properties before and if a similar room lock out situation occurred, the other properties would have asked a staff to accompany the guest to check on the room after the 2nd attempt failed, but unfortunately, this was not the case here.
A good property only to be let down by bad service.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Ascott Gurney Penang. The hotel offers great amenities, the rooms are comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing.
One of the highlights of our stay was the excellent buffet breakfast with a wide variety of delicious food choices each morning.
We would especially like to recognize Sity and Jensen at the restaurant. They truly went the extra mile to make sure we were well taken care of. Their warm hospitality, attentiveness, and dedication to their work really stood out. You can clearly see the pride they take in providing excellent service, even while working very hard during the busy breakfast hours.
Thank you to the entire team for making our stay such an enjoyable experience. We would gladly stay here again when visiting Penang.

First, its location is very close to Penang International Airport and that's the only reason I switched to this hotel because of taking an early morning flight. It's just 15 minutes for Grab. The check-in process was very smooth and highly efficient but not up to the previous standards of Mariott hotels I stayed. The room was generally acceptable but there was no toothbrush provided and the toilet seat was even not installed well for use. The problem was soundproof. Throughout the night, you heard walking sound and moving chairs on the floor above and even the snoozing of travelers in another room on the same floor.

Spacious rooms, excellent location and functionality.. Nothing spectacular, but everything avaliable and walking distance for everything. Grab to everywhere is less than 10 minutes. Highly recommended if you want to be in Georgetown

the hotel has a very good location, comfortable, clean, spacious room and tea kitchen. The room staff, the bathroom staff and the breakfast staff and the staff at the entrance are very nice and helpful. The reception is mixed, the quality of service depends a lot on the receptionist, in general a little more kindness would not hurt, it would greatly improve the overall image and atmosphere of the hotel.
