Lo que más me gusto fue la buena atención del personal de los bares. No me gustó el primer día en recepción me ubicaron en una habitación con mucho ruido lo cual había un equipo de otro hotel que hacía mucho ruido creo que era un chiller por lo que tuve que pedir un cambio de habitación

I tried to find something to complain about. The one thing was is that I booked a room with double beds and one of them ended up being a pullout couch. It worked out fine. Otherwise, the staff was very accommodating. The facilities were clean, and the restaurants were pretty good for all-inclusive. Would definitely come back for a family vacation.

A loyal RIU guest's first real disappointment, and it's a big one After years of staying at RIU hotels across many destinations, I always left wanting to come back. That loyalty is exactly why this is so hard to write. We arrived at Riu Playacar to start our family vacation and were checked into a room with no running water at all — no water in the sink, and no water in the toilet, meaning no way to flush or wash hands after using the bathroom. For a family with kids, that's not a minor inconvenience; it's a basic sanitation failure at a hotel that calls itself 5-star. The worst part isn't that a water outage happened — things break. It's that the hotel was already without water when we checked in, and they checked us in anyway, knowing the room was unusable, with no estimate for repair. We hauled up all our luggage, settled the family in, then sat for hours with no water and no answers, told only that it was "something extraordinary." To their credit, they relocated us to a sister property the same day. But that meant repacking everything we'd just unpacked and moving an entire family with all our bags, after losing our arrival day to a problem they knew about before we walked in. A simple heads-up and an offer to relocate at check-in would have turned a disaster into a minor inconvenience. I genuinely wanted to keep coming back to RIU. After this, I won't. This is the end of a long run as a loyal guest — and that's a shame, because it was entirely avoidable.

On the day before last I got severe food poisoning. Our family went to the steakhouse where I've ordered well done steak. Fortunately it was just me who had ordered the steak. After 10pm I had sharp abdominal pains. Spend the whole night at the restroom, no sleep. Pains were unbearable. Vomiting, nausea. In the morning we had to call the resort doctor. Doctor's visit was $225. I was diagnosed wtih acute gastroenteritis (food poisoning). Doctor brought the medicine with him and gave me two different ones for $195. He suggested if they to go to the local hospital if they won't help. Luckily the drugs did work and by evening I was able to leave the room and talk to the manager of the resort. He was kind enough to bring me plain cooked rice into my room for my dinner. Keep in mind that the whole time we were in the resort we drank only bottled water. The total medical expenses $420. The manager said he cannot reimburse any money and gave me the RIU Customer service email. I emailed to them the medial report with receipts and ask for some kind of compensation. A week later they answered saying sorry but no any compensation for anything (medical bill, lost health and time). They also said that here was no significant number of medical reports. I don't know what exact number of the doctor's reports they need, but apparently if one person got poisoned and called the doctor it's not enough. May be only the legal class action will work. So no customer protection exist with RIU.

I enjoyed this resort a lot. It was the perfect size… not too big, not too small. Was always able to find a pool/beach chair in the morning around 9am after breakfast. Was always able to find seating at any restaurant with no wait time. I was actually quite impressed with the food, especially the sushi at Jade. I enjoyed the entertainment, both day and evening. Staff was super friendly and bartenders were great… special shoutout to Jorge at the swim up bar.

Food was amazing!! Overall amazing resort to stay at

The hotel itself was amazing, but there are no elevators on this property. If you traveling with heavy luggage, it’s sucks walking up 3 flights of stairs, and I feel bad making the staff take up the luggage. This property is definitely a more relaxed resort, but it’s just a short walk to Riu Tequila for nightlife. There is also a market right across the street which is really convenient.

We loved the resort and it was just what our family needed!!

It was a great experience for my kids and me. The resort is clean and beautiful. The beach was very nice and the staff works very hard to clear the seaweed daily. We enjoyed the fresh fruit and the variety of restaurants!

Everything was amazing special thanks to Bryan at the reception! Really enjoy my time at this hotel I’ll will come back for sure

Amazing stay, the highlight of my experience was RIU Entertainment team. They are amazing! I have to say that the service at the breakfast and lunch times needs a little improvement - everyone is nice but there are not enough servers for the amount of guests.

The staff was good and the maintenance was perfect! But it was seaweed season(May) and was impossible to swim in the sea. But the pool was OK
