Nice views from balcony

The staff were absolutely amazing; every single one of them; from the receptionist to the doormen. 5* plus. The shower has intermittent hot water. The coffee machine didn’t work. The TV channels were missing. And our room was outside the church. The bells rang ‘loudly’ from 06:30 right through to 22:00 every day; Sunday to Saturday. Breakfast area had real character … but the food was cold. Bar lacks ambience but they make a grea G&T. The pool area worked but it’s a tad smaller in reality than the hotel photos. Central location but church bells at the back and loud square at the front. The hotel has real character though and the area is very safe. UBER drivers park outside; amazingly quick service when you need to get around the City. But we aware of The Bells.

Best hotel staff and clean!

Beautiful room with balcony with view of Merced church. Church bells rang in the New Year with fireworks in background—it was magical. Room is spacious and clean and gorgeous. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Food is excellent. Best hotel we’ve stayed in a long time.

Exceptional service stands out at the hotel. Front desk, bell hops, and bar staff Ivan and Johnathan were amazing. We used the small gym it had some weights and treadmills, pool area is charming. Unido coffee shop is adjacent serving geisha coffee. The only issue was the church bells right by the hotel, but nothing hotel can do they are living with history of the church. The square was lit up for the holidays with music super charming and insta worthy pics.

Clean, hip, UNESO heritage site in Casco Viejo.

The room was great at a perfect location. The only thing though, we’ve requested a 3 people occupancy and it only had a King Size bed, even though the room was a suit. Perhaps adding a sleeper sofa would help the room be more comfortable. I would still recommend it!

Very loud at least until 10pm, sometimes 1:00 am. Room service below standards, during 4 days stay not once was the floor cleaned, no supply in the containers of toiletries, outdoor space dusty and unkempt. Lobby and front desk service was great.

We had a wonderful stay at the American Trade Hotel in Panama City. The hotel is a beautifully preserved historic landmark, and you feel that character the moment you walk in. The unique floor tiles and thoughtful design details give it a charm you do not find in typical hotels, and everything was spotless and very well maintained. The location is also perfect. It is right in the heart of Casco Viejo, within easy walking distance of great restaurants, lively nightlife, and plenty of shops, so it is ideal for exploring the old town. On top of that, the staff was consistently cordial, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. We would absolutely recommend the American Trade Hotel to anyone visiting Panama and would happily stay here again.

Cool historic building. Very clean, nice rooftop pool. Amazingly friendly staff. Spectacular location. View of Plaza Herrara from the room. Things to know: 1. Rooftop bar across the plaza is bumping till the am. Not a problem if you are from the city, but if you are used to quiet ... 2. Room only had two prong electrical, and all outlet we switched making it difficult to charge phones at night. Would definitely stay again.

The staffs are very nice, friendly and helpful

If you’re a light sleeper like me - this hotel is not for you. It has two exposures: one to the square where there is partying and loud music every night till early morning and another exposure is to the church where the bells go off every 15 min from 6am-10pm. Resting was challenging and completely impossible during the day. Otherwise, the hotel was fine: clean, nice rooms, nice enough staff, very basic facilities: small gym and pool that we haven’t used (too small). Food was okay - we found much better restaurants especially for breakfast elsewhere. I guess it was fine for the price.

From Check in till check-out, how I was welcomed and farwewelled. Amazing. Great staff. Hotel itself is what I visioned. View and character. Comfy room and bedding. Definitely recommended.

ATH itself is a gorgeous hotel! I love the natural elements in the design and the perfect mix of classic and modernity. I was very disappointed in room service and mentioned it to the front desk upon checkout. Room service would come and do nothing but replace the free waters. Towels were left on the floor in bathroom, coffee pods weren’t replenished and empty glasses and coffee cups were left and bed wasn’t made. One day I had to flag room service down after they had been to the room to ask them to remove trash and items and clean. Really unacceptable and disappointing. Some of the wait staff kept looking at me like I didn’t belong there and at least two of the front desk attendants. I thankfully I don’t experience this often but when I do it’s very obvious and hurtful. As a business owner who travels the world it’s important for me to keep note of these things. I was prepared for the level of colorism in Panamá among certain groups though. For the most part, people in other areas were completely lovely and I was happy my limited Spanish made it easy to navigate the landscape. While some things were unpleasant, I want to give special mention to Érica and the bar staff and Irving (doorman) They really went above and beyond and while I won’t be back to American Trade Hotel, they were exceptional and I would definitely have a drink with them when I return :) thank you
