Great views and a pleasant stay overall. The panorama is truly beautiful and definitely the highlight. The spa is very nice and new, and exceeded expectations. The staff were kind and helpful throughout our stay. The only downside is that the rooms feel slightly outdated and could benefit from a refresh.

The hotel has beautiful views, a warm atmosphere, and very friendly staff who made us feel welcome throughout most of our stay. However, we were quite surprised and disappointed on the last day when the hotel closed entirely with very short notice. We were not expecting this at all and suddenly had to figure out where to keep our belongings and how to manage the rest of our plans. It was stressful and definitely not the ending we had hoped for. Aside from this issue, the stay was wonderful — but clearer communication would have made a big difference.

It’s worth the splurge for a room with a view. The view was amazing. The pool and sauna area are also great with a great view. Staff was friendly and helpful. I was worried it would be too far from the main road but the location was perfect and easy and right next to the ski rental shop and lift. Breakfast was good and they have a shuttle from the train station. 10/10 would definitely stay here again. Everything was perfect.

Memorable stay at the Schönegg. Staff was friendly and professional, the amenities are mind-blowing (pool, spa, terrace, lounge, etc.), the location is relatively central but still far from the noise from bars etc. All in all a fantastic stay and we’re very satisfied to have spent a wonderful vacation at the hotel. Shoutout to Grete, their super talented masseuse for making the holiday even more relaxing.

High up just above the village accessible by the hotel’s own tunnel and lift up through the rock (takes about 3 minutes from the street level) gives the hotel a wonderful quiet and exclusive position looking down on Zermatt and up to the Matterhorn. The view from the terrace, dining room and Matterhorn view rooms is fantastic and the quality and cleanliness of the Schönegg and friendliness of the staff is exemplary. They are getting a new spa and indoor-outdoor pool for winter 2024/25 which will make it even better (especially if the weather is hot). Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel!
