Barcelo Coconut Island Phuket

Our stay had both highlights and disappointments. Upon arrival, we entered through the staff pier, and unfortunately, it made a very poor first impression. There was trash everywhere, and it was disappointing to see such a beautiful island not being properly maintained. The hotel should invest in keeping this area clean, as first impressions matter and play a big role in whether guests return or leave positive reviews. The villa itself was excellent—clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered stunning views. We enjoyed both the sunrises and sunsets from our room, and the private dipping pool was a welcome feature in the hot and humid weather. The only issue was that the previous guests had stored durian in the refrigerator, leaving behind a strong odor. The food was average. While the breakfast buffet offered a good variety, several restaurants frequently ran out of basic ingredients such as tomatoes, mangoes, avocados, and crab. The meals were acceptable but not particularly memorable. We were also disappointed that the tapas bar was closed for a private event one evening, limiting our dining options. Since there are no restaurants nearby, purchasing the all-inclusive package is probably the best value. The staff were pleasant but appeared overworked, and the level of service did not reflect what we expected from a five-star luxury resort. Besides the fact there were roaches in both villas they put us in, the bigger issue was the fact that two of the male workers let themselves in our locked villa while we were relaxing in the pool (3 women traveling alone) after we told them we were unavailable. This was very startling and disconcerting. When we discussed it with management, they couldn’t have cared less. When I later brought my safety concerns about this incident to Barcelo corporate, they didn’t respond and instead sent my email back to the resort to once again respond to me that everything was basically no big deal and they did nothing wrong. There are plenty of resorts in Phuket… choose a different one if you are currently considering this one!

We booked and paid for the 3 bedroom beachfront grand villa with private pool. The villa was lovely and the view was great. Within 20 min of arriving and unpacking, we discovered a cockroach nest (NEST) in the drain of one of the showers. The hotel moved us to an “upgraded” villa that was not actually an upgrade at all (moved us to a 5 bedroom with only 2 rooms with a view from a 3 bedroom with 3 rooms with views…keeping in mind there were only 3 of us, so an extra 2 bedrooms was of no use to us at all and we lost one of the views). Fine, no big deal, we were excited to enjoy our vacation. The next day, we discovered roaches in the villa we removed to. Including one in a bed under the sheets. I understand that this is a tropical environment and that there will be bugs. One or two roaches is understandable. This is clearly a deeper issue. Do not stay at this resort. It’s a shame because the resort otherwise is lovely. They just don’t seem to have pest control handled.

Staff were very welcoming during our late check in and even upgraded our room. We got the private suite but were unable to use it due to the cleanliness of it. We let the staff know and it was cleaned regularly during our stay but with no filtration it was still not clean enough for us so we just used the community pools. Beach tide varied so we didn’t get to enjoy that either because the water just wasn’t pleasant looking. I would stay again if we vacationed here with a few adjustments on my end.

Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und sauber. Personal immer freundlich. Die 3 Restaurants waren sehr gut. Die Auswahl an Menues gut abgestimmt und geschmacklich hervorragend. Von ThaiCurry bis zum indischen Butterchicken war alles sehr gut. Die Villa mit Pool hervorragend. Der einzige negative Punkt ist dass es immer Musik gab. Am Abend meist Live Musik in guter Qualität. Tagesüber aus der Konserve.

Villa premium vista mare bellissima, mezza pensione perfetta. Solo il mare lascia un po a desiderare.

Virkelig lækkert roligt hotel i smukke omgivelser. Du burde dog lukke deres vandrutsjebaner, de var pletspartlet overalt, uden at være slebet og malet, så man sad fast og fik brændemærker på huden.

Fin personal, en liten gem. Bra med dagliga båtturen som är kostnadsfria. Kostar 20B för att kliva i land och 150B för en solstol.

This was a fantastic hotel set on a small island about a 5 minute boat ride off Phuket island. We stayed in a 2 bedroom sea view pool Villa which had anything we needed.the views from the second floor bedroom was incredible and the pool was big and clean. The hotel was stunning and the all inclusive service was perfect for us. My wife is gluten free and there was a dedicated menu that had a great selection. The staff were exceptional especially honey and Lina who were very attentive and friendly.we loved our stay here and will definitely go back when we return to Phuket.

Their meal service was slow. Their food was tasteless.

Great couple of days on Coconut Island. Made the most of the activities on offer - kayaks, sups, yoga class, bikes, tennis. Garden villa was beautiful and the private pool was great. Stay slightly marred by no water supply in the villa on the last day.

Had to make the stay shorter than it was due to property not having much to do. After a few days (3 Days) the property got Boring there was nothing to do. I paid for a total of 8 days and left by the 5th day due to being boring. Waste of money came here for honeymoon. Also room 89 had some loud people there who were smoking green leaf and were super loud. They were reported to management and nothing was done. They were up every night until 2am.
