The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable the bathroom was good sized. The shower was over the bath with shower curtains, not great for older persons. There was a warning sign about the heated towel rail which was not heated.A request to the duty manager to turn it on, produced no result, nor a report back. The breakfasts were fine and we were happy to have dinner three nights. Car parking in front of the hotel was good. Staff, apart from the duty manager who did not perform or report, were friendly, most were young and seemed to be learning on the job.

While the hotel itself was good the experience with the staff was awful. We had 10 rooms and many, many issues over 3 days that could/should have been easily avoided. A lack of good CX skills, empathy and willingness to address simple things made for a very poor experience. I would not recommend this hotel unfortunately.

We had a lovely clean room with a great view over the town. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Tea and Nespresso machine in the room all worked well. It is a good walk into town if a bit downhill on the way there and obviously up on the way back (hence the good view. Parking was ample if a bit tight on space, probably best not to arrive during peak bar hours. There was a small problem with our breakfast order but this was remedied when it came to light and the staff were very apologetic. Would deffinitly stay there again.

Decent hotel in a good location up the hill from the town which is fine for those who are mobile. Good car park at the front of the hotel. If you struggle to get around the stairs to the rooms may be a struggle. Good breakfast and good rooms.

I stayed at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Hotel for nearly two weeks, which gave me a very complete perspective of the experience. The room was spacious and comfortable, making it pleasant for a longer stay. However, the hotel was undergoing renovations during my visit, which unfortunately impacted the overall experience. There were days without hot water, days without water at all, and even days without heating — which was quite inconvenient. Regarding the restaurant, the food is good and the quality of the ingredients is noticeable. However, for stays longer than four or five days, the menu becomes quite repetitive, as it is relatively limited. The same applies to breakfast — while everything served is tasty and well-prepared, the lack of variety makes it feel monotonous over time. The biggest disappointment was the Sunday roast. Given how much it is promoted, I expected it to be a highlight, but it was quite the opposite. Not only did it not meet the restaurant’s usual weekday standard, but the service that day was also disorganized. The staff seemed inattentive, dishes were brought out without coordination, and we ended up eating cold food. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. In summary, the hotel has its strengths — especially the room comfort and food quality — but the renovation disruptions and inconsistencies in service significantly affected the stay.

Durante minha estadia, percebi uma diferença marcante no atendimento da equipe. Os funcionários homens foram mais atenciosos, prestativos e ágeis. Já as funcionárias demonstraram um atendimento mais ríspido, com impaciência e pouca disposição. As instalações são boas: quarto amplo, confortável e com boa roupa de cama. Porém, há uma falha importante: a cortina não bloqueia a luz, entra muita claridade pela manhã, prejudicando o descanso. O restaurante é bom, mas para estadias longas (fiquei 10 dias), o menu é repetitivo, com poucas opções, inclusive no café da manhã. Minha maior decepção foi o Sunday Roast: carne mal preparada, legumes sem sabor e falha no serviço — pedi purê extra, que foi esquecido e servido depois, sem sentido. O atendimento estava desorganizado, mesmo com o restaurante vazio. Além disso, o hotel estava em reforma, o que impactou muito: houve dias sem água quente, dias sem água e ocasiões em que o restaurante estava fechado sem aviso prévio. Para finalizar, na última noite não havia calefação. Pedi um cobertor extra e recebi uma manta inadequada, passando frio. No geral, boa estrutura, mas falhas importantes em conforto, organização e atendimento.

We had a lovely two night stay over Easter weekend. Parked easily, checked in a bit earlier. Lovely spotless room. Expected a bigger room for a superior room and would have loved a bath. However the shower was good with nice toiletries. Bed a bit too small and lumpy for me. Everything you could need in the room including hairdryer, iron, coffee machine etc. Friendly note left by housekeeping. Bar good for an afternoon drink. Breakfast WONDERFUL!! Loved the choices. Dinner also WONDERFUL. Pricey wine unfortunately. A short 10 minute walk into town with lots of bars, restaurants and shops. Would stay again.

Lovely old period hotel.very comfortable room with a decent shower albeit over a bath. Bought breakfast one morning which was excellent. Parking for the car in front of the hotel and a 10 minute walk into town

Great stay at a reasonable price for what was basically the honeymoon suite. The staff were polite and helpful and the amenities were great. The condition was excellent.

Well positioned out of centre.

Room was clean and well furnished, the hotel was quiet and had a relaxing atmosphere, breakfast was lovely.

Very good internet connection. Lovely granola at breakfast. Toaster super efficient. Our Room had a quirky floor, where the doors to the bathroom, and to the corridor had a gap. Parking 1st come 1st served, and have to be expert parkers. Loved the room, and the staff.

pity about the building work

Our bedroom no 15 was next to the lift and we were woken early morning and at night on the two nights we stayed when people used the lift with mind the doors message on several occasions. We used restaurant on first night but the menu was limited and to make it worse several of the options were not available so we went out to eat on 2nd night. The staff were excellent and apologetic about the being woken by the lift and lack of menu choice.
