Good location and view but the rooms could do with an upgrade

A very old hotel that has lost most of its charm.

When we arrived a couple hours before checkin, we requested an early checkin. The lady on the front desk checked and our room was ready so early checkin for us which was amazing! Amazing service. Room and bathroom was very clean. There was coffee and tea with biscuits in our room, we did not use but was there. New fridge too. Our own balcony too. Just an overall great stay! We will be back!

The room had everything we needed. The spa, bed, balcony and views were excellent and a great location. The complimentary wine on arrival was a lovely touch.

My biggest issue is that i have messaged them twice through Expedia, before and during the stay and no reply yet and today was checkout after 2 nights booking. The details on Expedia do not match the actual rooms and to say seperate bathroom but it is actually across a hallway isnt what you would expect of a seperate bathroom. No communication is my issue.

The room we had was very basic. I was unable to get a lot of sleep due to the uncomfortable bed. The couch was not much better. Very basic room, would have been better if we had a microwave oven. Would not stay here again, even though it is close to everything in the centre of town.

Very comfortable large room, excellent shower, and walkable to all the local attractions, bars & restaurants.

The beds in the room were all comfy and clean. I was coughing in the room probably because of the carpet. Location is the best! The staff were helpful and nice! Thanks for a great stay!

I love the quirkiness of The Anchorage - have stayed there many times. The location is great - I didn’t use the car while there. Was a little disappointed that the cafe no longer serves breakfast - and that it was closed Friday - but I survived :)

Ok, Queen spa room. Spa great, free mini bar, nuts n chips 2xwater, red wine was very good ARC 21 Shaz, S.A. wine Barossa. only minor issues, the clips on the curtains would come off when you open/ close. Door between main room and spa/loo/shower was off its hingers/broken. The main issue, went downstairs to order a pizza in the bistro, part of hotel, was told was too hard to take a pizza to out room. 2nd taking my mobile number to ring/text to say pizza ready so could pick up was also too hard.
