Our stay at southern palms resort was nothing short of amazing! The resort is beautiful with big pools and is located right at the beach front. Our room was big and spacious always kept neat by our lovely housekeeper Veronica. The staff at the hotel are such lovely genuine people. Everyone made us feel right at home, starting from the manager daisy who even gave us her personal contact to call her if we needed anything at any time. Elisha the bartender at the beach bar kept our drinks flowing and made sure to have conversation with each person sitting at the bar. The food was fantastic. I must recommend the bbq restaurant which had a wide selection for us meat lovers. I will definitely visit again soon!

Outdated & Overated & Overpriced

The property is nice with good food options for vegetarians. However, it needs some renovation as the rooms and washroom fittings are pretty old. During our stay, they started painting the outer walls of the building that was a bit inconvenient.

Great place to stay. I liked the food and the staff, very friendly. However, the local vendors can be a little aggressive and intimidating. They had events nightly on the resort so really no need to leave resort. Ran into some minor issue with Wi-Fi and room selections. Overall I would definitely return, minus the bees and flies.

Great property. Excellent food and friendly staff Property needs some love. Showing signs of wear and tear. Rooms very average. Comfortable but definitely needs to be spruced up. Beach is very clean and safe. Had a great time. Food options. Lots of Indian cuisine. Got tired of it after a couple of days. Not much seafood. Please add more international choices in the Buffett

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, angenehm empfanden wir es in der Nebensaison hier gewesen zu sein, das Hotel ist wohl bei (Indischen) Hochzeiten sehr beliebt und bei knapp 250 Zimmer will ich mir den Trubel gar nicht vorstellen. Aber eine tolle Anlage, alles sehr freundlich, das Hotel wird laufend in Stand gehalten und ist sehr sauber, Personal super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einzig die Beachboys am Strand nerven ein wenig, romantischer Spaziergang am Strand ist hier nicht ;-)

Really amazing resort locates in the heart of Diani in Mombasa. The staff are very attentive, most of all very friendly and are very accommodating. Access to beautiful beaches. Rooma are very clean and spacious... Will be back in 2 weeks 👍

I stayed at Southern Palms Resort in Diani for two nights, and while the property is stunning with one of the most beautiful swimming pools I’ve seen, my overall experience was mixed. The resort has a relaxing vibe, and most of the staff were friendly and welcoming. However, there were a few things that really affected my stay. First, there was no internet the entire time, and every time we asked about it, we were told it was being fixed—but nothing changed. It felt like we were being misled rather than given honest updates. Another issue was with our half-board meal plan. Upon check-in, we asked at the reception if we could swap our dinner for lunch on one of the days. They assured us that it was absolutely possible. But when the time came and we approached management, they completely denied it at the last minute. This caused a lot of inconvenience and showed a clear lack of coordination or willingness to honor what had been agreed upon earlier. Overall, it’s a beautiful place with great potential, but the poor communication and lack of reliability really took away from the experience. If internet and flexible service matter to you, keep this in mind before booking.

Bedauerlicherweise vor Ankunft schon stressig mit dem Hotel gehabt, dass gleiche nochmals bei der Abreise. Man bekommt leider keine konkreten Antworten. Buffet ist unterirdisch. An 2 von 7 Tagen gab es garkeinen. Getränke nur im Glas, weshalb man nicht mal Wasser aufs Zimmer nehmen kann. Die Mitarbeiter flirten stark,obwohl man mehrmals gesagt hat, dass man es nicht möchte. Datenschutz nicht vorhanden, überall und für alle einsehbar liegen Zettel mit persönlichen Informationen herum. Strand ist schön

The exterior and common areas are nice but the hotel is dirty. All coushions in common areas are stained and clearly dirty. The room was extremely humid and smelled like mold, which was clearly visible in the shower. With the excellent of maybe 3 staff members out of maybe 10+ that I came in contact with, were friendly. Everyone else seemed bothered when asked for help, especially the staff at the general dining area. The exterior is nice but not worth the stay. This property is also far from the main beach area with nearby restaurants so research the area before booking.

Stenhårda sängar. Lyhörda rum. Hemska drinkar och viner. De två restaurangerna som krävde bokning hade jättedålig mat. Bufférestaurangen var väldigt bra dock. Servicen varierade väldigt mycket, några var supertrevliga men de flesta rätt så passiva. Servicen var även väldigt trög, trots stor personalstyrka. Städning av rum varierade också men över lag helt ok. Vi skulle säga att standarden va mycket lägre än förväntat. I sociala medier och på bilder kändes hotellet mycket lyxigare.

Loved our stay! We came here for a wedding and the staff were very attentive and accommodating! Would highly recommend this resort if staying in Mombasa.
