Hotel looked tired. But the room I had was good and clean

We stayed here for 2 nights as was seeing take that the circus tour ,when we arrived we got a friendly welcome everything was explained to use and was close to train station and places to eat ,the room was clean and comfortable as well, bad points were there wasn't a breakfast option and the the car park is really small we had to park on opposite side of road at 1 point in our stay .

Lovely hotel in barry and very close to barry train station so it is a very convenient location. The room was clean and comfortable and for the cost of the room it was good value and cheaper than cardiff.

Quite basic room, no frills, but clean and tidy. Price reflects the standard of rooms. Little decoration issues, but nothing too major. Staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful, polite and smart. Would definitely recommend the hotel if you're on a budget, but if you're after luxury, this wouldn't be the hotel for you. There's no eating facilities there, but a nice bar.

Really nice stay, Although a little tired and dated, don't be put off. Everything we needed, clean rooms, great price, great breakfast and amazing friendly and helpful staff. So much more personably than a premier inn or similar. Highly recommended.

Not the best! No food, gym advertised but there isn’t one. Car park horrendous and dangerous!

Well staffed clean and well maintained

Had a great night's stay here. Check-in was quick and easy and the receptionist was friendly. My room was clean, tidy and contained everything I required during my stay. It was my second time staying here and I'll be back again next year.

Well priced, no frills room. Perfect location for visiting Barry Island. The only criticisms I have were no draft beer or ice available in the bar and some toiletries would have been nice in the room. Were advised that food was no longer available at the property which wasn’t an issue for us. On the whole, I’d recommend staying.

Place was old and very date We were on the top floor We had heavy suitcases on lift Windows did not lock had roof access So we found it unsafe someone could have broken in We checking out after one night Found a new hotel

I stayed at the mount rooms for the weekend , the room was lovely 😍 the staff were very helpful I would highly recommend staying here and if and when I go to barry again I will be staying here x

As soon as I checked in, friendly lovely staff members let me check in a bit early which helped as I had heavy suitcase and I got my room straight. They gave me recommendations for food nearby too which was really helpful as I wasn’t sure what was good local foods. If you want a place to stay in Barry this is it for sure. And one other positive right next to the Barry station within good walking distance.

Lovely. Cheap and basic hotel. If you want a cheap stay it’s perfect. We stopped over on the way to Pembrokeshire.

It’s a good location but that was it really. No shower gel just hand wash no bin in bathroom no spoons to have a cup of tea. Pillows so flat may as well just be lying on a pillowcase.

Excellent welcome on arrival. Room was very basic and not very clean- bathroom floor and room carpet dirty and stained. Room very noisy early morning and bed creaked every time we moved! Had we been staying here more than 2 nights and it was literally a place to sleep we would have gone elsewhere!

Lovy hotel

We were pleasantly surprised, we just wanted a cheap base so we could travel around so to be fair we weren’t expecting much. But it was brilliant, the whole place was spotless, our room (number 37) had been recently redecorated and had everything you needed, including kettle and telly. The bathroom had old fixtures and fittings but it was clean (no mould or dirty tiles) it had also been recently painted, and everything was functional including the bidet! The shower was not a power shower but it was all we needed and worked well. The bed and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. Our room had a fantastic sea view and we enjoyed looking at the funfair lights at night (in the distance, no noise). The actual hotel was quiet no loud or unruly customers the whole time we were there. The position of the hotel was fantastic in easy walking distance to the beach,funfair, shops and Gavin and Stacey filming sights. It’s also only a five minute walk from a Witherspoons restaurant which was brilliant for evening meals at very cheap prices. All in all we had a fab weeks holiday and would book and stay here again in a heart beat.
