Visit Langkawi Island during the dry season during November - April to ensure a comfortable weather, bright sky, and less rain for outdoor adventures. Book and plan in advance if you’re interested in visiting Langkawi during peak seasons in Christmas, New Year, and Chinese New Year. 

While the wet season during the months of May throughout October will bring you unexpected downpours, the hotel prices might drop and will be a great bargain for travelers. Just avoid visiting in September - October as the peak wettest months in Langkawi.

2. How to Get to Langkawi Island

Here are some ways to get to Langkawi Island:

1. By Bus/Train + Ferry (Scenic Option)

Traveling by bus from Kuala Lumpur's TBS (Terminal Bersepadu Selatan) station to the Kuala Perlis or Kuala Kedah jetty terminal (bus tickets start from RM 50 - RM 77), that will take you in a 6-7 hours trip. 
Take the ETS train from KL Sentral to Alor Setar (for Kuala Kedah) or Arau (for Kuala Perlis). The train ride will take about 5 hours and will cost you around RM 73 to RM 98. After arriving in Alor Setar/Arau, take a 30 minutes taxi ride to Kuala Kedah Jetty/Kuala Perlis Jetty.

Continue the journey by boarding a ferry from Kuala Perlis (1.5-hour ferry ride) or Kuala Kedah (2.15-hour ferry ride) directly to Kuah Jetty in Langkawi (ferry tickets starts from RM 21 - RM 55)

2. By Plane (Fastest and Simplest Option)
