The Straits & Oriental Museum is a three-floor lifestyle and heritage hub located at the iconic St.Jo’s building. It proudly features Penang’s first museum showcasing over 250 ancient oriental ceramics from shipwrecks and those from the Song, Ming and Qing Dynasty folk and official kilns while conveniently housing restaurants, an art gallery, exhibition spaces, and a merchandise section over the structure’s three floors.
Documenting the splendor of porcelain and its significance to the ancient world. They have managed to secure authentic pieces that were painstakingly recovered from tedious maritime expeditions from well-known wrecks such as the Wanli, Turiang, Royal Nanhai, Nanyang, Xuande and Desaru.
