Villa Chingo

This was an incredible place to stay, the owner is extremely hospitable and my stay overwhelming amazing.

I am Hilton Diamond member and this is not 5star hotel, but amazing value for the money with amazing view! I recommend this place

Chingo, is actually the owner’s surname, he goes by because it’s easy for me to remember and his first name is difficult to pronounce for none native speakers, is a very nice warm person, also a talkative traveller, offers good info about his town, the place is about 10 minutes drive away with no public transportation, but Chingo offered reasonable priced ride. The room I stayed has great view of Lake Ohrid. It’s a nice one night stay for me.

Chino was a great host! I slept very well and the room was heart and tidy. He also assisted with transfers which made for a smoother experience. Highly recommend.

Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und hatte einen sensationellen Ausblick. Frühstück wurde nicht angeboten, dafür aber die Möglichkeit, sich selbst zu versorgen. Es gibt eine Gemeinschaftsküche. Das hat uns auch gut gefallen. Es war eine himmlische Ruhe im Haus. Sehr angenehm.

The owner is lovely. There is no reception desk and we had to ask other guests for advice how to register, but he showed up, sprinted up the staircases w our luggage and was so kind. The view is amazing and wouldn’t trade it. This is more of a guest house than hotel, and we liked the common kitchen for making coffee in the morning to take in the unreal view from our balcony. Be sure to lock your doors as one guest wandered into our room while my son was laying in bed. Parking is limited but available and for that I am very grateful. The owner is cool, fluent English, super helpful and has tips for the area including beach (200m away!) and anything else. We had open doors vs AC and mammoth wasps were … in abundance in our room. So heads up. Overall: 3.5/5, but would stay again

Excellent view across lake Ohrid. The owner ‘Mr Chingo’ was extremely helpful and dropped us to the bus station when our taxi didn’t arrive.

Excellent view - great hospitality

Property is on a hill with several signs leading to it and a very small area for parking. There was no reception area and no indication of where to go. We literally walked into one of the doors, walked down a hall and found our names on pieces of paper stuck in the doors. One room had a leak in the bathroom. The rooms were clean and quiet and there was a common kitchen area and beautiful view from a covered common patio area.

Vriendelijke en behulpzame gastheer, mooie kleinschalige accomodatie met gemeenschappelijke keuken voor de diverse kamers. Prachtig zicht op het meer en rustig gelegen. Restaurant en winkeltje liggen op wandelafstand, wat wel handig is.

We stayed at Villa Chingo for 3 nights in the top floor 3 person room. The accomodation had amazing balcony views and was the perfect place for a peaceful start to our holiday. The premises were clean and there were kitchen facilities to use. The host Lupco was great- very friendly and helpful- he was always available for any questions and help. The one downside is that the location is quite far from Ohrid town, so unless you want peaceful break or have a car, it may be a task to get a cab or use local buses. There is a nearby restaurant which is amazing and a small conveniece store 15 mins walk. Id highly recommend considering these premises.

Stayed here by chance. It was an awesome stay, didn’t book the view room at first but after seeing it, we paid the fee to have the view, and kept the doors open for the wind at night. It was a very pleasant stay. We had a car, but it’s not the for the faint hearted to drive up the hill to get there, and the tight, short, road. Parking is included, just know that any of the Balkan countries with off road streets can be difficult. This location is prime, on the outskirts of Ohrid, 8 minutes from the center, and a 20 minute drive to Struga, which we drove to everyday. Coming from New Jersey, a 20 minute drive is easy. The owner spoke Macedonian and English, and was very accommodating. Thank you for a great stay!

Having booked the night before, I arrived, and the owner had already booked the room to someone else. He claimed that he’d only just received the confirmation from Hotel.com. He was completely rude and started shouting at me.
