We loved our weekend at Leisure Lee. Was definitely as described retro and like stepping back in time. Apartment was clean with plenty of room with the best view.
These apartments are located in a prime location in East Ballina right on the river. Bruce, the owner greeted us warmly and went out of his way to offer a brief tour of the property, including places to check out while in Ballina.
Though this is not your "typical" motel, it has all the amenities of one as far as what's in the room. It has a certain charm to it, and getting to know Bruce a little really added to our stay there. When in the area, we will definitely be back.
Stayed for 5 nights over the January school holidays. The apartments are situated just outside the Ballina CBD, just over the bridge. It's only a short stroll or drive to Ballina's beaches and shops. I was studying at the time, so it was nice and quite, but plenty of nice places to walk or swim when I needed a study break! Bruce (manager) was incredibly friendly and helpful and was there (or only a phone call away) when you needed something. The breakwater wall is just across the road and is great for after dinner walks. You might even catch a glimpse of some dolphins as the sun sets! Sheltered bays are only a few minutes stroll so would be great for families, and don't have to go much further again to find beaches with some swell.
Been to Ballina a few times before this, and this has 'taken the cake' in terms of location vs value for money.
