Excellent stay, beautiful place

Perfect in every way!

Great location. Most places easily accessible by walking. very friendly owners and a great cooked breakfast. Very enjoyable stay

Close to all amenities cafes, The Nut best of all the penguins

David is a fantastic host and cook. He prepares excellent breakfast. The place is definitely comfortable. He is able to arrange a happy golf game nearby.

Geraldine and David were such wonderful hosts and we felt very spoilt being cooked and served a delicious breakfast. Poets cottage is beautiful and steeped in history. I would highly recommend this lovely place.

Very welcoming open hosts who offer lovely facilities and great guest care. When i jokingly added "boerewors" (unique South African sausage) to the breakfast menu selection, the host drove to Burnie to source some (not easy to find) and lo and behold it appeared on my plate for breakfast! Fantastic service - above and beyond!

The Poet's Cottage was an absolute delight. My wife and I had not been to Stanley for 20 years and chose the cottage based on the description and comments on accomodation.com. The cottage itself couldn't have been in a better location. Walking distance to restaurants and the Stanley Hotel and views from the front window. Everything was presented beautifully, and our hosts Dave and Geraldine were so easy to talk to and very knowledgeable with regard to the Northwest of Tasmania. Dave cooks a great breakfast while Geraldine attends to your coffees and toast. We could not have been more spoiled. Go to Stanley, enjoy the Poets Cottage and wind down for a while. fantastic place to stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poet's Cottage in Stanley. Geraldine and Dave are fantastic hosts and accommodated us with grace and professionalism. We cannot recommend the Poet's Cottage more highly. We will certainly be joining them again when we return to Stanley.

I had a wonderful stay at Poets Cottage, the hosts were wonderful and the building very well restored and presented... Situated in the heart of town, it is very easy/convenient to walk everywhere... The breakfasts were fantastic also!

This was an amazing find in Stanley. The Poet's Cottage was full of history, beautifully renovated and welcoming. From the minute you arrive until you depart, you are treated as a valued guest and in this modern world, this treatment will always stand the test of time. Highly recommend staying.

Heart-warmed by the incredible hosts who made our stay truly special, complete with a delicious hot cooked breakfast to start each day. We loved spending time with their friendly dogs, who enjoyed all the petting! The charming antique furniture combined with modern conveniences created the perfect blend of comfort and character. Highly recommend!

Wow! Wow! Wow! What a place. 175 yrs old and a delight to stay in, loved the house and its history. Rooms were perfect with charm and elegance. Hosted by Gerry and Dave made the stay even better what a lovely couple and the morning supplied cooked breakfast made a perfect start to the day. 10/10 best B&B ever. Scott & Suzi Wilson

Beautifully restored home. Wonderful friendly and attentive hosts. Excellent breakfast. Excellent bed and bathroom. Very clean. No complaints or concerns. Would definitely stay again. 5 stars.

Love our stay! Geraldine and David were awesome hosts; they went the extra mile to make our stay fantastic. Gave us great info on the local and nearby attractions. David was absolutely fantastic humouring my interest in his EV - added bonus to my trip. Everything was perfect except for the pillows - we found them to heavy and dense (others my like theirs this way); would have given 10/10 if the pillows were fluffy and softer. Highly recommend this beautifully renovated place to anyone.

Very old house well maintained and decorated, no air conditioning but did not need it as the walls are so thick.
