The Blue Hotel Bondi

This place has no service, there are no cleaning of your room. The room is run down and dirty. We saw a cockroach in the room and informed the staff. But there is no front desk.

Great location. Would’ve been nice to have the locker code for extra towels when checking in.

The Blue Hotel is like an apartment block that has been repurposed to be a hotel. We were in the Family room that had enough beds for six, but really just enough space for four people. Limited storage and quite a bit of "self-service", e.g. You get your own crockery, linen and other amenities from lockers in the hallway. We also had trouble with the drainage in the shower, but that was resolved promptly the next morning. Staff were polite, helpful and responsive. The room was fairly comfortable, the large window with the view of the street was great. The location is 10/10 close to the beach and lots of good restaurants / cafes.

Generally, it’s a nice hotel room. Two gripes: 1) There was quite a bit black mold on the bathroom ceiling. 2) The climate control is set so you can’t actually adjust it. If you don’t live in Australia, this can make for a very uncomfortable stay. They had the heat cranked up for winter, but I live in the northern hemisphere in a hot place. It would have been nice not to drench the sheets in sweat just from laying there. Besides that, it’s a good, inexpensive hotel with friendly, helpful staff in an outstanding location - the 397 bus will let you off just steps from the entrance. Don’t miss the fantastic breakfast cafes around the corner. Only 5-7 minutes’ walk straight down the road to Bondi Beach!

Family of 5 for an overnight stay. Good value, great location. Very comfy bed and the kids loved the bunk setup. Unfortunately our coffee machine didn't work, which really bothered hubby and we didn't realise there was a machine in the lobby until we checked out (which is our fault). Plus plenty of cafes on the doorstep!

We were really impressed with the $40 voucher and 2 x free cocktails offerings at the Italian restaurant down stairs from the accommodation. We enjoyed a great meal with delicious cocktails that was so reasonably priced because of the vouchers. Also the simple breakfast buffet was very handy to fill little hungry bellies at the start of the day! Our children really enjoyed the bunk bed cubbies and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.

The staff went out of its way to make our stay enjoyable. They were extremely helpful in directing us to the various places we visited. The coffee machine in our family room was a bonus. However, I would suggest buying a cheap milk frother, so as not to have cold milk in our coffee. We appreciated the icemaker and the roominess of our accommodation. The ten minute walk to the beach was pleasant and there were many facilities for dining, etc along the way. The continental breakfast was a pleasant surprise and so were the the accommodation costs.

Fantastic little hotel right in the hub of Bondi Beach. Very easy to walk everywhere, so many restaurants, bars and cafes out the door. The room was great. Super comfortable beds, lovely furnishings and extremely clean. ( My only criticism is the black walls). Maybe a nice blue would be better as the name suggests. I will definitely be back if the price remains as good.

Wow! What an amazing little funky hotel. We just loved it. So close to the beach, amazing restaurants and the people were all so friendly around the whole Bondi area. We will be back!
