Hotel Stadt Melk

The gentleman at the reception started out fine but became condescending quickly. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because it said it had a laundry facility. When I ask about doing laundry, I was told that there isn’t a facility in town but sometimes the hotel will allow guests to do their laundry onsite, but he would have to check. I was told to wait while someone was located to ask. I was then told it wasn’t possible. This hotel should not be allowed to advertise a laundry facility.

Two nice days in Melk with visit to the Stift as well as the wonderful valley along the Donau river. Hotel Stadt Melk is recommended.

This is a nice hotel with great location, but not having an AC in the middle of August heat wave really spoiled the experience. We spent two quite miserable and sweaty nights, while otherwise, happy with the service, rooms, and breakfast.

It’s a charming little hotel right in the town square and at the base of the Abby.

This hotel is located at the town center and is very convenient for everything. The staffs are very friendly. I appreciate the receptionist introducing me the idea of biking in the Wachau valley. I rented a bike from the hotel for 20e/day and had a good time riding to Splitz and return (for about 5 hours). The hotel also provided me a helmet for free. I want to thank the hotel and to recommend visitors to consider this activity.

Warm welcome , patient and proactively show us how to get more local info, perfect parking space, Comfort bed to rest but little bit noise from plaza. lovely chocolate at room . I recommend this hotel if you com to Take a cruise to Danube and visit Monastery

Flott beliggenhet rett nedenfor Stift Melk og rett i sentrum. Meget serviceinnstilte personer i resepsjon og frokostsal. God frokost, som var presentert på en smakfull måte. Greit rom med to gode stoler.

Very pleasant room and an excellent breakfast

The hotel is in the centre of Melk. Room was very clean and bed extremely comfortable. The concierge was very helpful

We stayed here one night as we were driving through the Austrian countryside. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. You can't beat the location, as it is right below the Abbey (which is a must-see) and the town is very charming and cute. The best part of this hotel was the French gentleman at the front desk who helped rent us bikes, get boat tickets, and gave us recommendations on how to bike the Wachau Wine Valley and answered any and all questions we had so patiently. We couldn't have done it without his expertise. He was pleasant and charming and really made the stay! Thank you for taking such good care of us! Parking is also right behind the hotel which was very accessible and nice. Highly recommend this hotel and this little town of Melk.

Perfectly located, and hotel owners couldn't have been more helpful. A gorgeous little town, with a boat-trip to the winelands a must. Not to mention the Abby on the hill which is mind-blowing! I highly recommend Hotel Stadt Melk

My family and I (wife and two kids, ages 11 and 13) had a one night overnight in Melk during a road trip through Austria. We wish we would have stayed two nights, it was such a charming town. As we had four people, we booked the suite and were pleasantly surprised to see there was a sauna in the bathroom and a huge shower. This was a highlight, we enjoyed the sauna morning and night. There is a shared balcony at the hotel overlooking the town square which is really charming and fun for people watching. My wife and I shared a bottle of sparkling wine from the balcony and relaxed in the afternoon. The service was friendly and there was a parking lot behind the hotel which was very convenient. The town of Melk was great; lots of charming cobblestone streets, little cafes, interesting restaurants, ice cream shops, etc.. You can also walk across a bridge for a nice nature walk through the woods to the Danube River. The monastery is a must see; it towers over the town and is beautiful. It is an incredible building with great history. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Melk

Check-in was nice. The gentleman was wonderful. He explained the city and even carried my bag up to the room. The parking was convenient and safe. The location was great! However, our room was miserably hot!! We actually considered leaving. There was a portable fan in the room which helped but it was still so hot.

Hotel was conveniently located for walking around Melk. Hotel provided all the amenities needed and beds were comfortable and the room was clean!
