We loved the hotel , it had a good size room, location was perfect and the bar on 7th floor was lovely and had good food . Service was attentive and polished. Walking in and out of all town was 2 minutes away. If you have a car, you will have to park it about 8 minute walk away , no big deal . Highly recommended

We were incredibly disappointed with our experience at Hotel Stein. We booked specifically because of its high service ratings and promise of onsite parking. Before booking, I even called to confirm parking was available in front of the hotel overnight — and was assured it was. However, upon arrival just an hour later, we were told all the parking was full and were instructed to self-park over a mile away and walk back through the rain after a ten-hour day of travel. When I explained we had booked based on that guarantee, the front desk attendant simply said, “Sorry, I can’t help you.” Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there. Our bathroom had visible black mold on the baseboards and ceiling — clear evidence of water damage that had not been properly addressed. I have a severe mold allergy and spent the night coughing, unable to sleep. We checked out first thing in the morning to avoid further exposure. When I shared our concerns with the new front desk staff, her response was completely dismissive. She offered a quick “sorry, I’ll let housekeeping know” and made no effort to apologize properly or offer any assistance. For a property that claims to be focused on service and comfort, our experience was the complete opposite. Between the misleading parking information, health hazard in the bathroom, and indifference from staff, I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere.

Above average hotel, clean and welcoming and helpful staff, its biggest draw being it is in an excellent and extremely convenient location within walking distance to all the major attractions of Salzburg. Other than that, nothing special. One area of caution: We booked over a month in advance at a fairly high rate for a standard "small" room (almost 500 euro/night) via Expedia, only to arrive and find the same room running for 230 euro/night as they dynamically price based on demand and neighboring property rates and availability; if you can afford last minute availability probably better to book that way, unless you can lock in a good rate in advance, and above all don't select non-refundable option, which my partner unfortunately did.

Wir waren im 6. Stock, direkt unter der Dachterrasse. Nachts war es dort ein bisschen laut. Das Personal war sehr nett und das Zimmer war wunderbar

L’arrivée en voiture est compliquée si les deux places de stationnement devant l’hôtel sont occupées … L’accueil à la réception a été un peu confus : la chambre n’était pas prête et on nous a fait attendre bien plus que les 10 minutes annoncées ; la réceptionniste qui a fait le Check in a disparu aussitôt et son collègue, pourtant présent, qui nous a vu patienter longuement n’a pas cru devoir se manifester avant que je finisse par le solliciter … La chambre était magnifique avec une vue spectaculaire…mais située sous le toit terrasse avec bar ce qui la rend un peu bruyante, l’insonorisation étant loin d’être parfaite. En revanche 10/10 pour le petit déjeuner sur ce même toit terrasse (roof top) avec un personnel très accueillant qui a compensé la froideur et l’indifférence de la réception…

Helt fantastiskt trevligt hotell! Bara för vuxna, lugnt och skönt. Sköna sängar, bra AC, lyxig frukost om än lite dyr. Mycket trevlig personal på hela hotellet. Takbaren är magisk! Det enda negativa är parkering för i och urlastning, det finns 2 platser framför hotellet som är dåligt uppmärkta men det är det enda man kan klaga på. Hur fint och lyxigt som helst!

The rooftop bar and the bartending staff were the highlight of our stay…. Excellent cocktail suggestions.. we were treated very well
