Sunbay Hotel

This is a very tired and dirty hotel. The first room we were given, the toilet had not been flushed or cleaned. We were given a different room on the 4th floor and had to lug our heavy cases up the stairs. In the morning a different member of staff told us that there is a lift at the other end of the building. The breakfast was not very appetising and although you could get an omelette made the cook would not do fried eggs. Not a pleasant stay.

La propreté générale est bien. Le déjeuner est bien et diversifié. Les points négatifs: aucunes bouteilles d’eau ne sont fournies. Aucunes collations. L’hôtel n’est pas directement sur la plage comme le montre les photos ( on doit traverser la rue ).

Check in was busy with a bit of a wait. Rooms are nice but a bit tired. They are clean but floors could use a good scrub in the bathroom. Basics are provided. No blankets just a top sheet for those who like cool room with covers. Breakfast is great, pool are is great and beach area is beautiful. Drinks are inexpensive but small. Staff are kind

Breakfast did not have healthy options. Nothing dairy free or gluten free options. Omelettes were poorly down, on a grill in oil. Only options were onions and cheese to add. Fruits were mostly from cans; pears and peaches. Refilling of fresh fruits took forever or never came. No decafinated teas or coffees

The reality falls far below expectations. The rooms look nothing like the reference images; the bathroom was completely grimy, and overall cleanliness was very poor. There were construction materials scattered throughout the hallways, and we had to request housekeeping because they never came on their own. The staff could greatly improve their customer service. It’s not just about providing the required information, but doing so with a positive attitude and willingness to help. With the exception of the woman who assisted us in arranging training packages, the rest of the staff was generally apathetic and not very willing to provide the information we needed. Honestly, I would not recommend this hotel.

Restaurant hours are posted as 8/10pm close time. Closes at 3. Not sure which beach they claim, but to access the beach you must walk through a hole in a fence across the street. Security guard was unhinged and unprofessional. That’s not safe. Bathroom smells. Placed in the wrong room. Breakfast not appealing. Can’t have a guest over. Stay elsewhere.

The hotel is a bit old and has not been regularly maintained. The rooms are run down and bare. The best feature is a beautiful and quiet sandy beach just across the street. There are not too many dining options around (Oistins Fish Market on Fridays is great). The very friendly and helpful staff makes the experience a bit more palatable.

The room was comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. The breakgasy was tasty. My children enjoyed the pool. A blanket should be added to the rooms and our room was not cleaned during our 2 night stay

The breakfast was terrible, staff was ok, pool not maintained very filthy, limited toilet paper had to go to front desk to request, had to rent a beach towel for 15usd.

The room was very spacious, and the beach is just across the street from the property. Breakfast is good, but resturant does not operate for lunch or dinner. There are a few dining options within walking distance. Overall stay was good, but age is a visible on the property.

When we arrived the room that was booked was not available. We accepted the room given and was told that the next day our room will be ready. The room given was room 112 which was 1 king bed. The room, the bed was 2 twin beds joint together to make a king bed. It was uncomfortable and created discomfort in our sleep the 1st night. Imagine trying to sleep near to your wife or husband and the bed is split in the middle. The toilet had big yellow stains in bowl. Rain fell, so the tiles were wet and slippery.There was no caution signs to alert guests to be careful. On the 2nd day coming back to the hotel after a fun filled day on the island, upon arrival we were told that our new room is not available and there aren’t any rooms available. We paid for a deluxe king room with balcony and a pool view. Several calls was made by the front desk clerk to what were we’re assuming to be management to resolve this issue. Finally, the room magically became available. At this point frustrated and exhausted we proceeded to make a payment. Our payment kept declining. Called our bank there was no block, hold or even insufficient funds on our account so we’re confused as to why the machine is not accepting our card. The clerk’s tone was very condescending and rude. Turns out Sunbay does not accept discover cards. Will never return to Sunbay. There was also no bottled waters in the room, no restaurants, no bars available to purchase food nor drinks on the compound.

Room was in the back of the hotel. No light. Felt ghostly not many visitors at property. Pool needs maintenance. Because we were only guest there at time felt awkward servers kept staring.. very distant to night life. It’s in a hole. We walked like 20 mins trying to get to oistins felt longer because we were unfamiliar. Front desk lady nice but hotel run down
