My room with a thatched roof was cozy and comfortable. Lots of hot water in the shower! Staff very friendly and helpful. I ate in dining room a couple times. Food and service excellent! Within walking distance to food stores, bank, some restaurants. Look forward to staying here again.

Warning: This place will cause you to forget all your worries and relax in nature!
What a fabulous place to lay your head for a few nights. Nestled amongst the jungle and mountainous terrain is Maya Mt Lodge. There are hiking trails that head down to the river, definitely explore these. The pool is a welcome relief after a hot day of exploring nearby archaeological sites or exploring the town. You hear the birds and cicadas constantly and it feels like you are in the jungle. The cabins are spread out enough to feel private but also there are enough rooms in each cabin to have chats with fellow travellers.
The staff here are amazing. Cesar at the front desk is an absolute legend! He is knowledgeable and helpful and can book just about anything you need - tours, transport, dinners, you name it he can do it! I'm sure if you asked him to book you a skywriting lesson, he would be able to do that!
Julie (and Rey) in the restaurant were so accommodating, cooking me delicious vegan food on request, definitely check out the on-site restaurant!
It is walkable to the town (about 30-40mins depending on the heat and your love of uphill streets!) or you can grab a taxi.
I'm really glad I chose to stay here and not in the hustle and bustle of the town (even though it is a bit of a walk/taxi to get into town there's not actually that much there), and I would not hesitate to stay here again. Bring a good book and just enjoy all that Maya Mountain Lodge has to offer!

I loved this place and wished I could stay longer. My room had a tilapia roof and it felt like a cozy nest. Lots of hot water in the shower! Staff all amazing. Friendly, knowledgeable, super helpful.
Tried restaurant twice. Food, service , ambience wonderful.
Convenient walk to town and stores, bank, etc.
Last but not least the resident cat Luna made me feel right at home.

The resort is in a delightful location. The location makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle. Laying in bed listening to Tucans calling was amazing.
The pool is amidst trees with lots of local birds, including tucans flying overtop.
A nice hiking trail on the resort.
Close to all the local activities with pick up at the hotel.
The cabins are privately located apart from each other and the kitchen amenities allow you to cook in the room if you’d like to. The restaurant has a great menu and the food is amazing!!!
Highly recommend to solo or families travelling in this area

Unit was fully furnished, and even came stocked with coffee for our morning dip in the pool! Incredible hospitality, and perfect location for those who like it a bit quieter. Will definitely recommend, and stay again when we come back. Thank you so much, to the entire team!

The lodge has the kindest and most helpful staff. The cabins were clean, well-stocked, and a joy to stay in. I saw several Toucans, and the food was fabulous!

Very nice lodge, especially all info about trees and other species. We loved the fire pit and the candles they lit every evening. The rooms are basic and thin walls. The resturant was ok, the breakfast menu was great with a lot of options. Definitely stay here again for a few days. Its 2 km from town, so a car is recommended.

The room and the kitchen were spotless and very adorable. You are treated with kindness. Even the cleaning staff remembers your name. We love this place. We’ve already booked a stay for next year. The jungle is just beautiful. The restaurant on site named Fiona was excellent also. You would do well and be very happy staying here.

Our stay at Maya Mtn Lodge was great. It was a quaint little place in the jungle. Our room was clean and quiet. The staff was super nice and helpful. The restaurant staff were lovely, and the food was excellent. I did a birdwatching tour one morning, which was great. We saw many different types of birds that I had never seen in the wild before. We had a large shared covered deck area outside our room, which was a really peaceful area to hang out.

We loved our stay at The Maya Mountain Lodge. Though the rooms are not glamorous, the location was great and the staff absolutely outstanding. Every single staff member was attentive to our needs. They made our planning effortless by arranging everything for us. They greeted us with smiles and were knowledgeable of local flora and fauna and enjoyed sharing their knowledge with us. We will be repeat customers wirhout a doubt.

Rooms are a bit older but very clean. Beds not the most comfortable but otherwise no complaints. The staff, especially Levi, really went out of their way to ensure our stay was excellent. We had an issue with a tour not showing up (due to vehicle issue) and Levi was very responsive and helpful!

I loved everything about this property the rooms were clean and well equipped. The grounds were immaculate and there is a trail you can walk through the jungle. The meals were all as goid as any 5 star restaurant. Their chef could work in the finest restaurants and put everyone to shame. I had 2 massages and again they were amazing. On top of all this their staff are some of the most efficient caring and respectful I have ever come across.
