City Hotel Thimphu

Was a decent hotel. Located centrally.

2月末宿泊　清潔で広い部屋には電気ストーブが一つあり寒さをしのぐ。隣が建設現場なのか　真夜中に大きな工事音で寝苦しい。この音が無ければまた泊まりたい

The hospitality of the staff was beyond expectations and reproach. Their willingness to accommodate requests was at a level that I have never experienced at other hotels. I felt comfortable and at home.

I really enjoyed my stay here. Close to the riverside walk, and markets. There is also a nice small monastery opposite the hotel. The staff is so friendly, and the food is wonderful.

Our room was HUGE and came with a kitchen (including a fridge and microwave) which was a wonderful surprise! It also had a great view. The only problem was, it was cold in the room with no way to adjust the temperature. We called the front desk for help and they weren't able to adjust it either, so they were kind enough to bring a large space heater. It was a good solution till we moved the space heater from the living room to the bedroom, which caused the power to shut down for the whole room. But the staff were quick to help, and they got the power back on shortly. One other thing to be aware of, which is not the hotel's fault, was that it was very loud outside...lots of loud partying just across the street...like a club or rave, even though it was a Sunday night. And when we were trying to fall asleep, there were loud catfight noises that lasted around an hour. We later learned this was common. Again, not the hotel's fault of course, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, you may not find it here. But the enormous size of the room and kind staff made up for it.

The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Hotel was well located with walking distance of the town center. Restaurant had good selection of food items.

Everything was good about the property, specially the staff was very courteous and helpful. However, two improvements are needed. 1. Breakfast timings should be upto 10 am and dinner timings upto 10.30 pm. 2. Bar upgradation is required in terms of variety. On one occasion only 2 choices of whiskey was available. Need to stock much more varieties, as Indians love whiskey.

The staff were excellent. Always helping and trying to make our stay better. Even though the occupancy was very less.

Not so good as breakfast was really bad, only 1 or 2 option. Wi-fi was really bad too

Amazing stay. Had booked the Suite rooms. The living room is very big with an equipped kitchen as well. The bedroom was even bigger and the beds and linen were super clean. They had room heaters to keep us warm. We ordered room service and they served food on the dining table inside the room. Food was yum. It does seem a bit pricey but the overall experience was worth the price. Wifi worked well. Bath was very clean and today. Hot water was in abundance. Staff as always were smiling and eager to help and serve. The breakfast didn’t have a spead , but the toast and butter and Jam and parathas with curd were sumptuous. The orange juice was fresh and the cofy was good too. Overall excellent and would come back to stay if I were to visit Thimphu again.

Great experience with good food and excellent staff ..would highly recommend this hotel
