Best Western Plus Durham Hotel & Conference Centre

The television connection was poor. Only 2-3 channels come in. All others said no signal. Of the 2-3 channels received, they kept dropping due to poor signal. The room was cold upon check in. Thermostat was set to Heat to 60 degrees. The beverage fridge in the room kept making thumping noises every 10-15 minutes. There was also a loud mechanical rumble every hour or so which may be related to the boiler or mechanical system. The event room doors were open adjacent the check-in desk. The event room was being used or storage of spare mattresses and furniture. Didn't make the best first impression. The front desk check in clerk was great. Very helpful and pleasant. Overall, the negatives can be justified by the low cost per night. It is an old refurbished hotel, and I would suspect it would require a lot of service to upkeep and the Owners are trying to keep maintenance costs down by keeping room heat to a minimum.

Age of the hotel is evident. Front entrance was difficult . Lots of stairs no handrails. Staff was great and made up for any shortcomings of the infrastructure.

The staff tries hard so give them a chance they try to get things right. The hotel is dated but they make the most, with what they have.

Great breakfast, clean room, quiet stay.

AC did not work and was so noisy. There was NO hot water on the first night. The Staff were amazing and incredibly helpful

The staff were the absolute best. From check in, to breakfast greetings to trying to accommodate a bunch of young kids while keeping their other guests happy too, the staff and general manager were amazing. Really made for a fabulous stay. Special shout out to Prabal (may have the spelling wrong). He was so genuine and provided amazing hospitality! Thank you !! Highly recommend.

Thanks for a great stay. Our room was fantastic and very clean. The staff was fabulous. Particularly the ladies who ran the breakfast. They were so kind, constantly restocking and the food was great too. The night front desk agent Parbal was amazing he was so kind and you could tell he enjoyed his job. He helped us when we needed something and always had a smile on his face! Thanks for great stay. If we ever stay in Oshawa again we will for sure stay at the Best Western!

Easy check-in. Room was very clean and comfortable. Great quiet hotel.

stained sheets, stained pillow case, generally gross. If I get bed bugs in the next two weeks, I'll know why!

The linens and bed were decent. Clean and comfortable. But the floors were quite dirty throughout. There were public hairs on the bathroom floor. If we weren’t there literally just to sleep and leave, I wouldn’t have stayed.

The staff i had this time around seemed snotty and stuck up when i checked in. The previous staff member was perfect. Upgraded my room at no extra charge. Asked if i need anything else. This staff didnt say hi or anything
