Hot tub and sauna really nice and small attention like a fire and food for smores.

Everything was spotless and the staff were all so friendly. We have been going for our Anniversary at Canalta Lodge for the last 4 years and this year as our 50th so very special. Our only complaint was we couldn't regulate the heat to turn it down. I guess we should have just called the front desk!

First off this hotel used to be pleasant to stay at. Not anymore... This has turned into a hostel! 3 buses of rude exchange students that don't know how to behave and have zero manners. Noisy all night. 50 students at once getting breakfast. Hot tups completely overcrowded with kids. There were 3 teacher that definitely did not supervise all those kids... They were sitting in the lobby while kids screaming and running on all floors. This hotel tried to make some money hosting these kids but definitely lost long time guests. Plus the housekeeping seems overwhelmed and did not clean the rooms properly.... For the price you pay go somewhere else!

Great stay. Staff was wonderful. Loved the happy camper drinks and sandwiches available. Rooms were very nice and comfortable. Awesome amenities. We’ll stay again if in the area!

Location is very accessible, free parking available behind the hotel. Staff were very nice and helpful. Room were aesthetic and clean.

staff at checkin were unhelpful. breakfast was unhealthy with cold food esp dairy, at room temperature and warm food such as eggs at room temperature. room was clean. would not recommend and hope not to return.

This was such a nice place to stay in Banff! I loved the decor and the feel of the lodge. It had a bit of a hostel vibe—a little quirky, up to date, cozy and fun! It was nice to have breakfast included, and we enjoyed the bar/cafe as well. Definitely recommend.

Breakfast was the exact same thing everyday. It was ok. Staff was responsive. Had 2 minor issues in room and both were fixed the same day they were reported. Room needed more lights and the bathroom needed a fan. Underground parking was great! The entire town has a parking shortage so having a guaranteed space was great. I was a bit disappointed in the outdoor firepit. The flames were meager...but adequate for toasting marshmallows for s'mores that were available daily.

Friendly responsive staff

Needed a solid room for our trip to Banff. Canalta gives free breakfast with stay, a huge amenity when trying to get an early meal before taking on the wonders of Banff. When you get back enjoy the cold plunge and hot tub to soothe your muscles and get ready for the next day. AC was a little loud but overall great stay.

The hotel itself is nice. However, my overall experience was not great. I was stuck in the elevator for 38 minutes because of a power outage and got a pat on my back for not panicking; no apology, no offer to try to make amends. The housekeeping service was mediocre at best. I requested new sheets after my 4th night, but this request was never fulfilled. Also, I had to consistently ask for wash cloths during my stay. I also had an undesirable experience with respect to security and safety. There was loud banging on my room door at 5am. I was not expecting anyone so I panicked and called the front desk to report it rather than go to the door to see who was there-I called multiple times and there was no answer. Incident was later reported to the front desk in person and there was a nonchalant response. Will not be staying there ever again.

It’s Banff so you’re paying more than what the property is worth. Staff definitely were accommodating to move us rooms after dealing with an adjoining room with kids being loud and disrespectful with parents who didn’t care how they made noise. Kudos to amazing staff for the option for a room change.

Had many great stays in Banff but I gota say so far this stay was the best staff was super friendly and service was more than great. If you do stay there. Gota try the root beer they sell at the bar. And they’re chocolate bars that’s locally made in Canmore.

I will visit Banff again and I will definitely be back at Canalta Lodge! The service was impeccable and the amenities were just right! It was a wonderful family friendly hotel and I had everything I needed and more! They’ve thought about it all and they have you covered!
