Staff was nice, helpful. But for us there was no shopping or dining other than the hotels.
I guess you get what you pay for. There were 3 windows in this room. The one with the best was in the bathroom. And you had to be sitting on the toilet to see the window. The other window from our bed looked at a wall, 4-5' away.
Bathroom, shower, bed were nice, not something we're going to remember about.

The hot spring pool was absolutely beautiful, and everything about the hotel was stunning.
However, the Gatehouse suite was quite disappointing. The living room and bedroom felt small and cramped, almost like a cave, and the view was not great.
It was also inconvenient to plug in appliances—making it hard to use the coffee maker, kettle, and other devices.
Although a microwave was provided upon request, it was dirty inside and not properly cleaned, which was very disappointing.

We loved the spa, the outdoor pool, the room service, our deluxe room, the1888 Chop Hose restaurant, and the lovely surroundings. The conciege desk staff were very helpful, too.

Hotel mit schöner Atmosphäre. Grosses Zimmer mit jedoch nur einem kleinen Fenster, daher etwas dunkel. Wenig Platz um Kleidung aufzuhängen. Grösster Nachteil war das sehr kleine Bad, neben der Badewanne nur Platz für einen winzigen Waschtisch ohne Ablagemöglichkeiten.

Lovely location. Lovely historical building. No AC in my room as it went out and no good air ventilation to cool the room. Roomed stayed at 26C all night. Slept in sweet and hard to sleep. I guess AC is a trade off for staying in a historical building and staff offered no solution.

we arrived late at nigh (about 10:30) due to flight problems. When we checked in, no one told us about the free breakfast with the gold rooms or anything else - just gave us a key and told us to have a nice stay

We stayed mid May and upgraded to the Gold package. Very surprised that the room wasn’t any more special than a regular room. It was on a lower floor than what they were going to give us for a regular room. The Gold lounge food could have offered more hot options for appetizers. Overall the value wasn’t there at over $850/night, even though it is a special place. We did it once likely never again there.
