Our recent stay at the Hessenland Inn was excellent. The room was perfect in every way. The staff were amazing, the restaurant meals were delicious!

This is a family business and they were extremely kind friendly and helpful.. the property is beautiful... There is a pool and gardens and a wonderful restaurant. The walk to the beach is 7-9 minutes, but there is a place to park if you drive down, then a long set of stairs down to the lake.
Definitely a must do!

Room was lovely and spacious with a fireplace. Staff pleasant and helpful. Had a bath tub which I appreciated as most hotels seem to be changing to showers only. Highly recommend if travelling in the area. Would be a lovely place for a special event.

I had a wonderful stay, it was just at the beginning of the season so it was very quiet which was what I was looking for. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff at the front desk were very helpful! The walk to the lake, and then along the shore, was a perfect start to the day. The bottle of wine I had sent to my room was terrific and the charcuterie box I had from the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Sitting in the sunroom with a glass of wine and a book was the perfect getaway.

Wonderful location with friendly, capable and accommodating staff. The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. We felt it was excellent value for the price we paid. The property is quite pretty, with an attached winery where social events are occasionally held that guests can choose to attend. There’s a small section in the lobby which showcases their wine selection, and we purchased 3 bottles on the recommendation of their knowledgeable staff.
The only small critique I have is that the tissue box in our room was empty when we checked-in. I believe that should have been re-filled prior to check-in. Otherwise, we had a pleasant and comfortable stay and would recommend it for your travel needs. We would likely stay here again in the future if we’re back out this way.

The grounds and the winery here at Hessenland are beautiful. We loved being able to walk around and explore the gardens and lovely seating areas. The outdoor pool was a refreshing treat during this heat wave. The food and drink was fabulous and the staff wonderful, friendly, welcoming and helpful.
We found the inn itself dated and tired looking. The rooms and sitting areas could use with an update and refresh like the rest of the property has had. On the whole though we enjoyed our stay.

Me and my friend enjoyed every moment of our staying in this place. The room was very clean and the bed and pillows are comfortable. The dinner was delicious, so we had breakfast the next day. Didn't disappoint us either. We strongly recommend this place if you ever want to travel in the area. Awesome experience! Will definitely go back again! Thank you!

Hessenland is a lovely oasis. We were thrilled with the friendly staff and personal and professional care.Beautiful grounds. Nice walk to the lake and easy drive to the quaint towns of Bayfield and Goderich.

The place seems to have passed it's time. The room was outdated, rusted shower bar, awful heating/cooling system (if it even worked). The hallway to the rooms smelly. More like a cheap motel rather than an Inn.
The food was good, but way overpriced. The wine (only tasted the Riesling), had over the top petrol notes and should not be served anymore. Staff tried to tell me about dryness of the wine which has nothing to do with this. Certainly had no idea about wines.
The only nice part was the walk to the beach.
We were very disappointed and left in the morning as early as possible.
