A very very special place. Beautiful views from the room, great hospitality from Mayda (thank you for everything Mayda!) a social area and kitchen to use as we liked throughout our stay and easy access to the town by bike foot or rental car. would 100% recommend to anyone considering it!

It's a unique place to stay with lots of character. Spacious clean rooms, comfortable beds, and friendly staff. We enjoyed our time here and appreciated the small intimate nature of the hotel, which made you feel like you weren't just another anonymous tourist. The owner, Juan, came to greet us on our first day and we had a nice conversation, and Mayda, who checked us in had a lot of great recommendations to share. Would stay again.

Ein Ort der Entspannung. Ausgesprochen freundliches Personal, welches auch viele Tipps zu Touren in der Umgebung gibt und bei der Organisation hilft. Die Zimmer sind ein Traum mit fantastischen Blick auf den Vulkan Licancabur. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und können diese Unterkunft nur jedem empfehlen.

There are 5 very clean basic rooms at the hotel. No air conditioning but there was a fan which helped at night. On a hot day, it is a bit stuffy in the rooms but they cool down nicely at night. The back of the property overlooks the mountain range which allows for fantastic views during breakfast and when relaxing off the back of the dining area. Unfortunately, I was there when it was actually quite cloudy over the 3 days so I could not appreciate this fully. It is located slightly out of town and it is very dark at night so the star gazing should be outstanding....but due to the unusual cloud coverage, I could not see any stars. I liked the location of the property which is slightly out of town and very quiet. You should definitely have a car to get around. It is away from the dust and congestion of the center of town. Franklin is the manager of the property. He speaks excellent English and was very helpful. Since there is not front desk and for the most part after breakfast, there is no one at the property but the guests, you should talk to Franklin and the other guests in detail about the different activities you plan as purchasing the tickets to see some of the sights is not obvious - especially if you go see the mountain lakes. If you decide to take the many tours, then the tour operator would take care of this. If you have a car however, you easily see all of the sights yourself.

Nice & quiet place outside of town.

Franklin and his partner were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and welcoming. The views of the mountains were spectacular. Breakfast while enjoying the views was a special treat as well as delicious. We would highly recommend Planeta Atacama Lodge.

The setting was stunning. The service friendly and helpful. The room was extremely comfortable and clean. We both slept well. Breakfast was included and excellent. For travelers who enjoy unique, peaceful lodging, it’s perfect.

Franklin was a very helpful host with tips for activities. Free breakfast was included.

A hospedagem é perfeita! Sem dúvidas tem uma das vistas mais bonitas do Atacama (e está disponível através da janela do quarto). O quarto é muito confortável, o hotel é mais retirado, o que dá mais privacidade e menos interferência das luzes da cidade (o céu é incrível!), mais ainda assim é próximo do centro para sair durante o dia ou noite. O nascer e pôr do sol são um espetáculo a parte na acomodação. <3 Café da manhã muito bom, chuveiro maravilhoso, o Franklin foi excepcional conosco! Super disponível, atencioso, prestativo... Com certeza idnicamos de olhos fechados!

Local incrivel, quartos espaçosos e limpos. Uma vista espetacular dos vulcões. Assistencia impecável do gerente Franklin. Recomendo!!!

I would give 6 stars if possible. Our room had a loft where our daughter stayed. Franklin and Carla were super-friendly and helpful. The terrace where we had breakfast every day looking out at the mountains could be my new favorite place ever. Unfortunately, there was a full moon so we did not go stargazing, but we did lots of other day trips to amazing places. Definitely plan to go back!!

This is a very nice place to stay, outside the noise and bustle of San Pedro de Atacama. Its located just outside town and a short walk(unless its 32C outside). There are six large rooms, with a beautiful view of the large volcano. Breakfast is in a separate dining room, but we ate on the patio with the view. DOWNSIDE, is that there is no air conditioning, or good cross-ventilation in the rooms, so even though it cools down at night, not in time for a good sleep.

I recommend unreservedly that you stay at Planeta Atacama Lodge. You will not be disappointed. This is the place to stay for memories of your trip to this stunning and otherworldly corner of our planet that will last for your lifetime. I am a 54-year old solo female Adventurer with mobility issues. I call two countries "home"...The United States and The Republic of Trinidad & Tobago. Let me start with the surroundings. The property is wildly unique. There are just 5 adjoining rooms. Everything is made out of wood and other natural materials from the desert. The whole property - from the entrance to the walkways to the rooms and dining area -was deliberately designed to elicit an unbroken harmony between The Lodge and the desert. The room itself is big enough for a family. There is a king bed on the ground floor and a loft with two beds. There's a large bathroom and plenty of shelf space. A huge window looks out onto the Lascar and Licancabur volcanoes, and a nice chunk of the Andes. One of the best reasons you should stay here is Franklin and Carla - the Managers of The Lodge. Franklin speaks impeccable English. He knows the area very well. He willingly reviews your plans for the day, providing you with priceless tips. He can also make your tour bookings for you. He and Carla are friendly and fun folks. He is always available on WhatsApp. They are caring people who make you feel like they have your back - invaluable for the solo traveler especially.

Fomos muito bem recebidos pelo Franklin. Hotel super agradável, limpo, com excelente roupa de cama e roupa de banho. Quarto amplo. Café da manhã ótimo. Excelente lugar para tomar um vinho apreciando a vista. Com certeza recomendo e voltaria a me hospedar.

Our stay at Planeta Atacama was incredible. Before our arrival, Franklin (host) contacted us to confirm our arrival time to coordinate details and navigation details. Upon arrival we were greeted with a custom sign which provided us our room and wi-fi details. Franklin waited for us to arrive and was kind to allow us to complete the checkin process the next day, as we were hungry and tired from a full day of travel. The next morning we completed the check-in process and had a chance to meet Carla, Franklin’s partner and Chef who cooked us up a delicious breakfast - and tasty strong percolator coffee! The lodge is located in a magical part of the desert, and the breakfast area faces North to volcano Licancabur and the border to Bolivia. The overall architecture is beautiful - adobe and ‘brea’ - utilizing local materials and very well crafted rooms and spaces. Our hotel room had a loft bed, and plenty of room for storage. The bed was super cozy and warm and the window was a seamless view North. The location is about 5 minutes from town center, 10min. From Valle de la Luna, 40 min. From Puritama. Overall we would recommend this lodge for those looking to stay on the ourskirts of the town. We met incredible people - Carla, Franklin, their kids, Oreo (dog) and Mery. All were very helpful in our planning and experience in San Pedro de Atacama. As a personal treat we had a chance to speak to the architect, Juan Soto, and shared our gratitude for the beautiful designed space.

A truly unique place! Super close to nature, amazing view, perfect for full disconnect. Franklin, the host manager, has been extremely helpful & friendly - he did not only help with all our daytrips, but also organized a NYE celebration for the guests at the hostel. Def recommend!
