Hotel Playa Bejuco

Staff was amazing.. Friendly, personable, knowledgeable and professional.. Daniel and Mildred at the front desk helped so much with booking tours, giving advice. Riyel and I bounded helping each other with the languages.. I feel I made friends. Amazing.

Hotel is near the beach, we went walking to many areas of the beach, pool is very well, clean and nice, buildings is very comfortable, the staff incredible friendly. Food in the restaurant is really good.

Property is well placed near the beach. Restaurant menu was small but food was good. Service was average

We booked here for 2 nights for a weekend trip. The first night was ok. At breakfast the next morning, we sat in an almost empty dining area away from the other patrons so we can have some privacy to eat. The waitress came over without any sort of greeting and demanded that we sit in the area where the few other guests were seated. We asked her what the problem was and she said we were siting at a 4 person table (that was set for 3) and we needed to move to the other area. We indicated that the restaurant was almost empty and in the last 45 minutes of operation for breakfast, and the likelihood of the restaurant needing our table was slim. We told the waitress we didn’t want to move and wanted privacy, to which she replied “you don’t have a choice”. The waitress immediately created a hostile situation in the presence of the other 8 patrons creating a scene loudly arguing with my wife and I demanding that we move. We again told her we did not want to move. She said “I will let you slide today, but tomorrow you can’t sit here.” Flabbergasted, we went to the front desk to ask for the manager, which we were told was at home over an hour away and wouldn’t be in until 10:00 at the earliest. We demanded an apology and the cancellation and refund of the second night. We left afterwards in fear of one of the kitchen staff spitting in our food and feeling insulted and chastised. The waitress has no business in her role.

La habitación no es lo que describen. No tenía escritorio para trabajar, no tenía balcón, ni tina de baño. Todo muy viejo y deteriorado. Al llegar las luces de la mesa de estar quemada. Cama premium y es un colchón sobre una base de madera, que poseen canales prémium en la tv y es la configuración basica de señal por cable. Una caja fuerte que no sirve el tablero electrónico, solo con llave y el llavín todo desgastado ( pase 30 minutos para abrirla la última vez). No hay artículos para el baño, las toallas con huecos y sin servicio a la habitación. No hay posibilidad de snack o café. Un café $2. El día que llegamos no estaba disponible el restaurante porque había baja ocupación, o sea. Puede que haya o no comida cuando llegues.

Just did not like the rules about the me nor taking towels to the beach and not be shirtless around dinning area. I understand if it was a restaurant but it was a bar and seating area outdoor next to the pool.

We had a great stay. I wasn’t sure what to expect from Hotel Playa Bejuco - I was a little worried it would feel like a touristy budget beach hotel. It actually feels more like a rustic lodge than a giant, modern hotel. In a good way! There are ~20 rooms total and they all surround a central courtyard with a pool. We were traveling in a group of 6 (our family 2 grandparents). We booked two family rooms - 2 queen beds & private bathroom each. The hotel was very helpful in accommodating our request for one room on the ground floor. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the beds are clean and comfortable. There is AC in each room and you can adjust. There are also working fridges and a safe (no microwave). The bathroom was clean and functional, but if you are traveling with someone with physical accessibility needs, note that the tub/shower may be difficult to access. The tubs in our rooms were built in (vs free-standing) and it is an especially high step to get in. There is a grab-bar but still may pose a challenge. The hotel staff was wonderful, especially Daniel at the front desk who was friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us arrange a to-go box of fruit for the mornings we were leaving before 7am (when breakfast opens). Note the hotel’s restaurant is closed on Mon. so breakfast may not be offered that day. The location is incredible - literally steps from an amazing beach. If you have activities in Quepos or Manuel Antonio, it is a ~45-60 minute drive each way.

Most of the staff was very nice and professional but a front desk guy called Daniel, he was very rude and had a bad attitude to attend guests.

The staff was so friendly & accommodating. Great WiFi. Laundry service was super convenient and cheap! Short walk to the most beautiful beach! We will be back!!
