Great staff. Awesome home with modern amenities for a family for mid hundreds in December. highly recommend it.

We had to change last minute and the Villas Macadamia had a casita. Turned out to be the best place we have stayed. Plenty of space for the whole family, close to town and quiet.

There are 6 villas on the property. It is a nice property, nice 2 bedroom cottage. The on-site manager is helpful, but only speaks Spanish. The main problem is that our unit has a huge bug infestation, including cockroaches. Bugs are to be expected in CR, but not like this and this was by far the worst experience. Property was clearly not well cleaned and looked after. When we complained they just came with a can of bug spray, which wouldn't work and which wasn't possible with kids in the house. They moved us, but the new unit also had bugs. The worst part was that the ownership simply doesn't respond to emails or communication, and the property manager says he can't do anything unless they respond, and apparently they don't respond to him either. They also didn't respond to hotels.com. So nice house in theory, but horrible customer service and bugs.

The Villas are absolutely gorgeous. We loved our family vacation here. The owners and manger are absolutely fantastic! Cannot recommend highly enough!

What a beautiful house. Large and comfortable

Coming to Costa Rica from the US, we weren't sure where to stay in Monteverde. This turned out to be a great choice, and with a little heads up, you'll have a great time here. The booking confirmation said to contact the property about 24 hours in advance to arrange for check-in. Don't ignore these instructions! We tried to call, but were not able to get through and only heard a brief recorded message in Spanish. Our fault for not speaking the native language, so that's on us. Try harder to contact them than we did! Turns out we needed to get the key code for the gate to get to the check-in desk. After getting them on the phone and working through the language barrier, we were finally able to get into the community and were shown to our condo by a very nice and helpful lady, who was patient with our broken Spanish. The place was clean and the neighborhood well cared for. Screened windows allowed us to let the cool Monteverde breezes blow through the house and we never had to use the AC, but it was nice knowing it was available. It's a short drive to all the Monteverde attractions and the downtown area with shops and restaurants. We recommend the Treehouse Restaurant, Taco Taco and if you're heading to the Cloud Forest (20 min drive), check out Cafe Calibri to see plenty of hummingbirds. The property included a full kitchen and laundry room and was comfortable. Totally recommend for a great time in Monteverde!

The Villas are beautifully maintained. Comfortable and convenient to St. Elena. You’ll need a rental car as the walk to town is very hilly. We loved having all the space and a full kitchen. The host Guillermo is extremely nice and accommodating- our coffee maker broke so he gave us his! He does not speak English but we used our Google translator with no problems. The only issue we had were some pretty large spiders crawling around the floor, but it is to be expected given the location in the cloud forest.

Gullermo at reception was fabulous. He answered any questions and provided any information we required. Lovrly man. He booked us a taxi too which arrived bang on time and returned for us bang on time. The accommodation was plenty big enough for us with everything we needed. The washing machine and drier were an excellent bonus.

We had an exceptional stay at Villas Macadamia. Upon arrival, we received clear and direct communication regarding property access. The property is securely gated with an electric gate and keypad, complemented by a motion sensor light, which was particularly convenient as we arrived late in the day. A delightful surprise for our family (especially our son) was that each villa comes equipped with its own trampoline, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We also appreciated the convenience of having a washer and dryer available within the villa. The villa itself is spacious and thoughtfully designed, featuring rocking chairs on the front porch and additional seating in the back, all set amidst lush greenery. Guillermo, the property manager, was incredibly helpful and responsive, always available via WhatsApp to promptly address any questions or concerns. Overall, our stay in Monteverde was wonderful, and we would undoubtedly choose Villas Macadamia again should we return to Costa Rica.

Loved the private gate entry! Guillermo the concierge was super helpful, even with our late arrival. He suggested a great place to eat and even made sure we came down the mountain on the better route than we went up. So do your research on how to get there.

The villa was even nicer than the photos! Check in was absolutely seamless by corresponding directly on What's app with the property manager, Guillermo. They use codes for the main gate and the front door of the villa. All the kitchen equipment you need and the washer/dryer made the stay absolutely wonderful. AC units in both bedrooms as well as one in the main area. Our kids LOVED the trampoline outside our villa (Villa #5 has a bigger trampoline than some other ones) and the gated compound allowed them to go and explore on their own. You can see the low-hanging clouds drift through the compound, so cool. Sat outside under the covered patio during rain storms. Anything we needed, Ana and Guillermo were there instantly. Wonderful stay, would highly recommend.

Guillermo met us at the gate, showed us where to park and took great care of us. The villa was beautiful with a big bathroom and great kitchen (full sized fridge, coffee maker, stove top with pots, etc. just no stove). Bedrooms were big and had AC.

The property was great but what is absolutely incredible is Guillermo, the property manager. I have never in my life met someone so genuine and ready to help with every single thing, big or small. Not only did he help with the menial tasks of rebooting the wireless router but he also drove and waited for me at the emergency room when an injury needed attention. A true life angel. Guillermo and Villas Macadamia will forever hold a dear place in my heart. 11 on a scale of 10.
