Bahia Principe Luxury Esmeralda - All Inclusive

The staff was incredible. Hector in entertainment is funny and full of life. The pool bar staff was amazing as well (Alexis and Albi). Very attentive and very mindful. Willing to help with anything. The property is huge. I always thought all Bahia Principe properties were in different areas but they’re literally all connected and you can commute via train (carts). They have train stops and you can get on and go to the other hotels and eat, use the pool, go to the beach etc. Our room, like I e seen in orher reviews was smelly. It smelled like drain mildew and sometimes poop the whole stay. Getting extra wash rags was hard. The cleaning lady had to ask management. We stayed 5 nights by the way. One rag the whole stay. Our refrigerator didn’t really keep anything cold. Pretty much luke warm drinks if we got thirsty in the middle of the night. Room service options were horrible and not that good. If you want to eat anything tasty order from the kids menu. Spaghetti was the best thing. The food overall was average. I can get better Dominican food from Brooklyn. Best place to eat was the buffet but eventually it got so tiring that we barely wanted to eat. We ate at two other restaurants and it was okay. The beach was great but the vendors are kinda annoying. Selling massages, pictures with parrots, excursions, hair braiding, rugs just about everything. You can hardly relax. It’s very overwhelming and you’ll end up saying no at least 12 times before they walk away. Pool close at 6.

Review accurate for this property. It was good, staff works alot for low pay, I guess sometimes they have some attitude, rolling eyes type of attitude, don't say a word, but I understand spanish, I catch something here and there…the women specially… but overall is good! Marie and Alex is the best in that place! She is a 1000% go above and beyond and made a difference in my stay.

Bahia Principe Esmeralda is a smaller resort which we prefer. It's clean, beautiful and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food at the buffets need sternos to keep food hot and ice to keep cold food cool. Otherwise we were happy with food choices and dining rooms. The restaurant staff is very friendly and attentive. The outside bars could use more bartenders however, we enjoyed all the drinks we sampled. The pools were clean as were our rooms. More shade around the pools, water park and the beach are needed as some people really can't spend time in the strong sun. More shade would make a significant improvement to the resort. TY for a lovely time.

The property is great because its a compound of several themed and styled hotels that you can walk around and enjoy. It was clean and well taken care of. Plenty of signage so you know where you are and how to get to where you want to go.

My stay was great. Slight complaints on the lack of availability of the train carts throughout the day/night, variety/quality of the food at the buffets, and the lack of availability of lounge chairs at the pool/beach due to people “reserving” lounge chairs with their towels or other personal belonging while not even being at the pool/beach.

Overall this was such a great experience for our family! 2 kids 2 adults. The Esmeralda reminds me of a boutique style hotel. No lineups. There were always chairs. Tons of gorgeous healthy food. Staff were outstanding. It felt peaceful with direct access to the water. No need for golf carts. With this resort you have access to the other Bahia resorts on the grounds but the Esmeralda was by far the nicest. There was tons to do for kids and adults. It wasn’t wild like spring break. I believe there are only 500 rooms at the Esmeralda vs thousands at other resorts so it had a nice flow to it and never overcrowded. We were shocked at how little English many of the staff didn’t speak but managed and learned as we went. They were all very kind and constantly cleaning and checking in while we ate. There wasn’t pressure to tip or to sign up for actives from the staff- but the vendors on the beach were a bit intense sometimes. The bathtub in the room could use a good scrub and there was dripped dried paint from the Reno on some of the fixtures. Room for improvement: I wish there was a paper map. We are so over using apps. We also wanted real menus instead of scanning QR codes. The front desk could improve on giving an info package, tips, tricks, and a tour. We landed starving and found ourselves walking in circles finding where to eat at certain times. The rooms and restaurants had a mildew (?) type of smell. All in all it was so good and the little improvements did not ruin our trip

The beach was just a short walk from our room beautiful beach and great staff. I would definitely go back. Me and my kids were there for a week. Also... get the swim up if you have kids!

Really enjoying staying at Bahia Principe Esmeralda. The staff was really nice, especially Luisa by the beach bar. She made us feel welcome and made sure we always had a great time. There were minor instances when we felt a bit annoyed, like when the vendors by the beach kept coming and asking us to buy their services. Usually there is one or two, but this time it felt like we were being asked every 3-5 minutes. It was not nice. Something needs to be done. Other than that, this was a great experience. Entertainment was well done and they had enough variety for the whole family. From typical dancing shows with local folklore, to circus shows or bubble parties by the pool. Bahia Principe is getting better with time.

I loved the friendliness of the staff. Starting from the bellman to the front desk staff. Special shotout to Jose-front desk, Alfredo- guest services were very attentive and helpful. I will come back again next year.

The only thing that was renovated was public places the rooms where the same poorly maintained I had to change 4 rooms because of a bad smell.I had to wait 2 days only for the remote control to get fixed, in the bathroom water was coming out of the shower on the floor., Over all not hapy

Nice hotel!

Our new favourite place! We loved everything about this resort. Beautiful, spacious and clean rooms. Everything was close and walking distance which is a must with small kids. Dining options were fantastic! So much for kids to do. My daughter loved the waterpark, kids club, and endless virgin pinacoladas! The service everywhere was incredible. Staff were so friendly! We’re already planning our next vacation here. 10/10! Highly recommend!

Great resort for a family trip. Food options were good. The kids (4&7) had a blast and there were plenty of activities throughout the day. We would go back!
