Best Western New Kent Hotel

The location is great and it’s very close to the local Metro station so you can get around the area easily. That said, this is a budget hotel so I was managing my expectations. The room was clean and tidy but it would be nice if they could clean the mould off the grout in the bathroom. I also got the impression that the hotel was a side hustle and that the Indian restaurant on the ground floor was their main priority - because what else can explain the fact that the corridors and stairways smelled strongly of curry? I booked this hotel because it was meant to be a quiet one (a fact implied by their refusal to accommodate hen and stag parties) but unfortunately there was a party in the bar on the Saturday evening and music was exceptionally loud and could be heard throughout the hotel, even in my room. When I spoke to reception staff (at the time and also the following morning) they said they knew nothing about the party and there was no manager available to talk to. I probably won’t be booking with them again.

A decent hotel, but as others have noted the lack of parking is an issue - we parked a 10 minute walk away. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was good. Would thoroughly recommend the Indian restaurant within the same building.

The room was clean and the staff were very polite.

Staff were lovely and helpful, breakfast was tasty and overall we had a good stay. The hotel was a little dated in places and the mattress on the beds in our room need replacing. The location was good, with local amenities close by.

Plain, simple but spot on for one night. Well located for Metro for city. Also Indian restaurant that looked very nice next door.

Not the way hotel especially with no lift however pleasant staff and excellent Indian restaurant adjoining it.

The hotel was a five minute walk from the metro , clean , quiet, and the staff were friendly. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Room was clean bed comfy good breakfast and free parking

It was an eye opener, when we got there. The room did not look like the room we had booked. They did not have the heat on and were providing everyone with heaters untill I spoke with the staff member in the evening and he did turn it on. I had some other families who were going to check in a few days later, we suggested they cancel and stay somewhere else.

The hotel was in good location plus it was very quiet

Room was clean and there were two pillows. Thought the breakfast could have had more options.

Had a 2 night stay here when dropping my daughter back at University. Convenient for Jesmond & Newcastle City Centre shops and cafes/restaurants. Hotel is a bit tired looking but was fine for the time I was there. Bonuses are free parking and Chakh Dhoom Indian restaurant next door if you don't want to go far!

Front of house was very nice, respectful. The food and hygiene was great to.

We were only there for 1 Night we found the staff very friendly and helpful

Hotel is a bit dated and with no elevator. The room was exceptionally hot with no a/c or fan facility and once the window was opened it became too noisy from the road. Sleeping was very uncomfortable due to this. The Indian restaurant facility was exceptional

Clean and friendly and near the airport. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel has an excellent Indian restaurant next door too.

I booked a best western knowing there would be a restaurant not realising an Indian restaurant also the room was dirty and the radiator leaked into my bag which I was taking into hospital the following day so all my paperwork and clothes where wet nobody on reception when we left
