Elstree Inn

The accommodation was really bad - this place really needs a refurb. I have been on the road since May staying at different hotels and Air BnBs and this is by far one of the worst places I have stayed at. I just about used the toilet and couldn't bring myself to use the shower. Horrendous noise when flushing the toilet also. I had a lot to carry, it would of been helpful to have someone carry my stuff there were a lot of stairs.

Staff and location

No standard at all. Thebdouble room is too small even for one person... Unbelievable shower with very little water running through. Booked two nights but left after one night. Not comfortable.

The room was very small, with the ensuite barely shoulder width wide. Unfortunately, there was also what looked to be mold behind the radiator. Good location and available parking.

Stayed in room 6, for price really nice room. Complimentary tea, coffee water, with shower gel and shampoo. Tv as well which was nice. Manager was incredibly nice, really helpful. Great for short stay, was slightly noisy on main street but outside hotels control.

Very comfortable beds, owner very helpful, ideal location to Elstree studios. Bathroom in need of improvement & quite compact!

Good place for just weekend getaway.

Very helpful manager during a travel crisis and an unexpected stay made a stressful experience on the road a lot easier. Very flexible parking arrangements at low cost.

I only had a short stay at the Elstree Inn, but the owner of the hotel made every effort to make my stay as pleasant an enjoyable as possible.

The place was basic, and exactly what I expected for the price, as I only really wanted a base to sleep for a couple of nights. Good points were: They had provided a fan, which I was really glad about with the temperature being 34 over the weekend I was stopping. I could come and go as I liked, with no time restrictions as I was given a key to the front door. There was a fridge in the room so I could buy drinks from the Tesco next door and chill them myself. The man on reception when I booked in was very friendly. Bad points: The fridge threw out so much heat it actually heated the room substantially with it being such a small room. The cotton linen was fitted over what felt like plastic coated matress, pillow and quilt, so with the room being so hot it made the bed wet from sweat and I really struggled to sleep. On the Monday morning a lorry came to empty the bins at quarter to 2 in the morning and made no attempt to be quiet and woke me, after I had only managed to drop off shortly before. I needed a shower when I woke as like I said above, I was sweating but with the bathroom being shared, I didnt feel I could shower at that time in the morning as it was unfair on other residents. There location of the place is good being zone 6 so a travelcard is valid and it is just a 10 min walk to the train station. Loads of places to eat All in all, the main issue was the heat, which was beyond the control of the hotel, but there were things that could of been done to have helped.

Working in elstree Best value for money

Had a 1 night stay due to visiting Elstree studios for a recording. This was our 2nd visit. Tom the lovely guy on the desk was very friendly and helpful and you can have a parking space for £5 This time we were allocated a double en suite room on the 2nd floor overlooking the main road. It was very noisy and we could smell smoke from the pub downstairs smoking area. We preferred our 1st room last time on the 1st floor. Will definitely be back next time we go to Elstree

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed in basic room. Very clean. Good (if small) shower. Good one night stay. Difficult to find, as it's behind and above the Pick and Shovel Pub. The photo is of the neighbouring house down the side road by the entrance to parking, which is confusing.

Nice little room for what we needed. Very clean shared bathroom. Tom at reception was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay here again. One thing I would advise is to book parking through JustPark as the car park to this place only has a handful of spaces.

Stayed here last year and booked again while in town. Always friendly and helpful at check in and rooms clean and comfortable.

I had a single room which was very small, the bathroom looks like a module from a caravan, stand in the shower to use the sink which had cigarette burns in it. Welcoming staff and fairly quiet.
