Glencree

We had room 6 on ground floor which suited us it was a small double but very cosy and spotless. The tablet had all the info. Though as a digital dinosaur it took mea while to get used to it lovely toiletries and towels and brilliant fresh breakfast lived up to the reviews

My second visit to Glencree was just as wonderful as the first. The room was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. Our host really made us feel welcome and looked after us brilliantly. It's definitely a place I'll be returning to!

Cleanliness of the room was outstanding, great bed and ian was a superb host. Being able to choose your breakfast the day before. And the breakfast was superb, delicious, hot and tasty

Tablet in room didn't work properly on first night, so didn't know options so no order sent, got a full English which was very good, Tablet was replaced but we didn't notice until we were told next morning, was very disappointed with size of room, especially as there was an extra charge for the room we choose, very nicely dressed, but the cushions had to be set on floor leaving even less floor space.

We had a nice stay at Glencree. Ian is a good host and provided good service at breakfast. We stayed in the romantic room with balcony, and was provided a bottle of Prosecco in the room which was a lovely touch. The room is very small and we needed to remove a lot of the bed cushions/throw into cupboards as there wasn’t much room to leave them elsewhere off the bed. The balcony is really nice overlooking a stream. Shower was okay with nice The Lakes toiletries. For me a small downside (as I’ve noticed in a few B&Bs in the lakes) is not being greeted on check-in, and this is a downside to proprietors living off-site. It was good though that Ian served breakfast, as we couldn’t get our tablet to work in our room, it would have been good to have a menu of options available for food at breakfast table. I’ve stayed in other B&Bs with more of a range of food but the food ordered did taste good and accommodated gluten free. Cleanliness: Bedding had a stain on when we arrived but to be fair we arrived slightly before check-in and the final “once over” hadn’t been done so this might have been caught if we’d arrived later and the bedding changed. When we notified Ian he was round in 5 minutes to sort the issue. Some of the blinds could do with a bit of a deeper clean. Bathroom was very clean.

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Glencree mid-August’25. We received great hospitality and hotel and breakfast was great. Thanks and stay brilliant Paul

Great stay. Lovely room which was quite small but the balcony made up for it. The breakfast was great every day. Location wise is was an easy walk to either Windermere or Bowness. Would recommend.

Beautiful guest house and perfect service from Ian (sorry for interrupting your dinner!!). Breakfast is very tasty and promptly served. Can’t fault the stay whatsoever!

The hotel is in a great location. Ian was an excellent host very friendly and made a great breakfast. The self check in and tablets in the room to order works really well. Will definitely stay here again next time we visit Windermere/Bowness 👍

Great stay and a super friendly and helpful owner. Breakfast is pre-ordered on a tablet when you arrive, unfortunately the tablet wasn't charged up but that is no big deal and the breakfast was very good!!

A lovely one night stay in Windermere in this Charming Guest house, the host could not be more helpful and friendly, will definitely be coming back!

The only good thing of this place was the comfortable. For the rest unfortunately our experience wasn't positive. The pillows were uneven, the bathroom was quite dirty, so was the floor. The room was really small and we could barely walk through having two small suitcases on the ground. We arrived late so we had no one to complain about and look for a different room.

Absolutely brilliant stay! We loved the room, balcony and breakfast. The coffee was incredible?! Staff were lovely and Ian a great host! Thanks so much, we'll be returning!
