The room was very comfortable and clean. All staff helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast very good selection and kept replenished.

The room was clean and the staff were great. If I had to downgrade it at all I have to say I’d expect all sockets to have USB ports as standard.

For someone that travels a lot this hotel was top when it comes to cleanliness , tidiness and comfort

I was very disappointed with the service provided by the hotel, particularly the restaurant staff. Both at dinner and breakfast, the restaurant staff were unfriendly and appeared unhappy while serving guests. During dinner, after I had already been seated, the staff escorted another group of guests to a table further inside the restaurant. Instead of guiding them around, they asked me to stand up and move so that the other guests could walk through to their table. I found this extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate. In addition, I had booked both breakfast and dinner through Expedia. However, neither the hotel nor the restaurant had my reservation on record. The restaurant staff told me to go down to the reception desk to sort it out, and then return to the restaurant afterwards. This clearly reflected poor communication and disorganised operations between the hotel and the restaurant. On the day of check-out, the reception staff prepared my parking exit card, but failed to inform me that the exit barrier could not be opened by inserting the card and instead required staff to open it manually. As a result, we had to return to reception to ask for assistance, wasting more than 10 minutes. When I asked for help, the receptionist simply told me to press the intercom button so they could open the barrier remotely, but their attitude was impatient and discourteous. Overall, the service I received throughout my stay fell well below the standard I expected.

Car park additional payment a big negative so will always go premium on first as no charge there

We had such a lovely time we brought our dog and the staff were amazing with her.

First time I've stayed at Holiday Inn, what can I say it was great. I didn't want to leave, so much to do in Southend, and the hotel was above standard. From the minute I walked in, until I left my stay was comfortable, peaceful and just what I needed. I will return. Close to a small retail outlet, but it is quiet you wouldn't know.. and handy for the airport.

Welcoming staff all very helpful. Late check-in no issue. Comfortable room Airport side. Shower mixer was erratic in temperature. Comfortable bed had a good night sleep. Breakfast was good. Recommend

Room clean, temperature a little warm. Easily adjusted. Limited drinks menu. Food good, no comment re breakfast as we left hotel 5am for early flight
