Clean and tidy room, helpful staff and excellent amenities

Staff great, clean room, good room price and food and drink decent value.

A bizarre experience all around. Half of the staff made a good pass at it - the people in the bar and the housekeeping staff. But most of the others seemed unable to comprehend what it is to be in the hospitality industry. Many of those we encountered were surly or grumpy in the extreme. Day after day the breakfasts were pretty inedible. Food was cold, coffee was lukewarm at best. At prices like these it's a pretty poor show chaps . . . Needless to say, we won't be back.

Nice hotel over looking the sea staff are friendly hotel nice and clean nice location easy to work to where you want to go would definitely recommend

Loved the terrace. But overall the hotel was dated, tired, and plain shabby in places, particulary the carpets

Such a beautiful location but hotel itself is rather dated. Reception & bar service were both very slow. Our room, 56, is in need of a deep clean, as is the dining and bar area. Also, overnight we could lots of noise from reception area.

Customer service is off the scale excellent as Charles and Anthony have taught their staff well in going the extra mile to make the guest happy - very rare today and great to see and experience at the Livermead

Goodness , it was like traveling back to the 80's ... The hotel needs modernising. The room was ok , but the bathroom was so small, ridiculously so. Every aspect of the room, such as furniture and decor needs updating. The breakfast room ( restaurant) , feels like a museum , the curtains , table cloths and decor is so old ... Actually feels dirty because everything is so old. The breakfast service was horrendous...buffet service ran out of food and we had to wait 39 minutes to get food. In the mean time we had to ask for almost every aspect ... No butter , no milk , no cutlery... The staff were trying their best , but it was obvious that more were needed. Oh , also had to pay extra £10 to park , which in this day and age is ridiculous. Although if the hotel added that extra cost on such platforms as Hotels.com it would get less bookings . So much so , that I understand if you book direct, parking is free . This is a way the hotel makes the hotels.com commission back ( dreadful !!). A positive and the only one ... The new lady working on reception was so polite and helpful.

If you want a time warped hotel from the 70s to 90s youre in luck. Had the cheek to charge for £15 per night for my snall dog. I think they should have paid my dog £15 to stay there. Dated room. Old bathroom not fit for purpose. Old mismatched furniture. Poor mattress. Broken fan. Weak shower. Dirty carpet in room. Just shabby.

A little dated but service was exceptional. Easy parking. Great food both in the evening and breakfast. Clean room. Small shower and not a fan of having the sink in the bedroom not the bathroom. Small shower. I was overlooking the road and new hotel being built opposite. The restaurant and bar have amazing views over Torbay.

I’ve booked the hotel cos the view from the pictures were stunning, meant to be a surprise present for my wife, 2 nights staying but the next morning we left the hotel, a wedding function was held and music was on till midnight. I choose the hotel for a peaceful stay but although we complained was nothing they could do. Fair enough cos the wedding was on, but if I knew I wouldn’t waste my money and time to stay, losing £100 for fees. Great! Uncomfortable bed and pillows… shared balcony??? We end up having a partially refund and booked somewhere else. I’m not going back.

Car parking. £10 per day if you book through hotel .com. Total £50.. This hotel runs a free car park if you book direct.??.charge for our dog was £15 per day..£75 total. We were offered room 12.which has the smallest bathroom i have ever seen and tried to use comfortably.??.window looked out to the roadworks coach park etc. with all the noise and pollution from the cars etc excellerating at the traffic 8lights . Staff were very helpful.

Our room was very small and too warm. I had the window open but it was a bit noisy. I think if you had a room at the front, it would be better

Overall OK, breakfast was reasonably good but £10 for parking let thdm down.
