Oyster Fleet Hotel

We arrived at the hotel at around 4pm and checked in and were allocated a room, the room had a terribly strong smell of sewage and drains, this room was not fit for habitation and should never have been offered to anyone and was clearly not checked. We returned to reception and were told this was the only double available and were offered a family room on the second floor. The room was freezing cold 5 degrees and the heating had just been turned on. The bedding was cold and damp. It was so cold that we went out and bought an electric blanket as we had no choice but to stay in the room as we had a function locally and had travelled a long distance to be there. There was no heating in the bathroom which was also freezing cold, so much so that my wife was unable to take a shower. The temperature of the room was 16 degrees at 7 oclock. We were given a small portable heater. Our weekend was spoiled by this disappointing and unacceptable situation and we want a refund.

Room was quite clean but a bit dated has some cracks in walls I opened the tv cabinet and it came off in my hand but the worst bit when you washed your hands if you ran the hot water for a minute or so then the I’m assuming it was the pipes made a loud noise for about 5 minutes

Still no WiFi in rooms

The room was quite outdated, cold even though the heater was on full and no soundproofing so woken up several times from other rooms having showers, toilets etc. Also no WiFi in the rooms and the TV was very small (18") yet in the far corner of the room.

Staff were good with good service. The property is very dated. The room I was in seems to have cardboard walls. The next room had a TV on late in the night, even after asking them to turn the volume down it was as if the TV was in my room. The hot water tap was making a loud noise with water flow coming on randomly. The room was clean though

I didnt stay for breakfast so hence no score. Room was satisfactory, met all requirements. It was clean and fit for purpose. Wifi only in bar area. Check out box in reception would be a good idea.

We were there for an event therefore did not go sightseeing. Yes car park was safe.

Room was clean noisy during night The bar area just smelled of food there was no air in there you couldn’t go in there if going out later

The receptionist Niaomi was super friendly professional and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The English breakfast was fresh and tasty. The steak restaurant was a nice surprise. The scenery over looking the water was picturesque. To anyone visiting Canvey I would recommend the Oysterfleet hotel

No internet in rooms. No access before 8:30 for lift reception or restaurant where internet is available

Easy check in. Small carpark but adequate. The room was good. Looking a bit tired in the main building, the roof probably needs some attention judging from the ceiling tiles. Shame the lift is inaccessible after midnight. Overall though it was good value for what we required.

Property in general was clean and the staff pleasant. Had issues with breakfast, the orange juice was fizzy and off so i advised staff. The apple juice had something floating in it. It was changed or removed but attention to detail needed. Rooms pretty basic for the money. Could do with updating. Ok for one night but wouldnt want to stay longer.
