There weren’t enough beds in our room

Great choice of food in restaurant, friendly staff, good atmosphere. Room was well appointed and had everything you need

We recieved an email from the hotel just after the free cancelation window ended, notifying us of additional charges for extra beds that we weren't expecting and that were not on our initial confirmation email after booking. Would recommend that the hotel sends out any emails with additional charge notifications within the cancelation window to give customers the opportunity to understand the full cost of their stay before they are locked in. We ended up booking another hotel for the night and losing the cost of this booking because requests made to the hotel for a refund were denied.

Repeat visit best in the area

Super stay - high quality furnished room, and quiet late on, despite the vibrant atmosphere at the adjoining pub. Only thing I could perhaps find fault with would be the high tog rating for the duvet (which made for a rather warm night !)

The property was really well decorated and clean as it has just recently been upgraded and was beautifully decorated inside. Unfortunately there has been no sound proofing in the property, so the noise from The upstairs apartment and people leaving the pub was very off putting. We have stayed at The Dragon on numerous occasions, but this will be our last time booking in here.

Excellent Pub (food and drink selection), prices good with discount on drinks post meal. Lovely ensuite room.Great 1 night getaway. Will definitely go again

Check in was very smooth, friendly and professional and the room was everything you can hope for: clean, comfortable and warm. My only comment would be that breakfast should be included for the price

Fabulous staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable bed. Shower head had a leak but was replaced very promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only slight criticism would be that it was a bit messy near the bedrooms.

Will definitely return, especially in the summer month to enjoy the outside

The Cottage is a great place to stay and the Dragon is an excellent pub to have a few drinks and had excellent food. The staff are both friendly and professional.

Booked this at the last minute and it was a great choice. Struggled to find it on a dark and rainy night because it’s part of the Dragon pub and I couldn’t find a sign for the cottage! Parking was quite busy but still found a space. Much better than the drab budget hotels in Derby.

We came for 4 days to go to Download festival and it was perfect. The staff are all lovely.. especially Emma! Always helpful, even leaving out cardboard for our extremely muddy boots. The walk along the canal is beautiful too. Highly recommend this place.

Unfortunately nothing more than a lukewarm shower, food had to be returned and was wrong second time out!!

Very clean and comfortable accomodation, with excellent dinning and bar facilities attached next door. Staff are very friendly and cannot do enough to assist.Would certainly use again and again.

Very clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious accommodation. Lovely to have somewhere to sit and watch a film rather than only a bed so definitely worth paying a little extra.

Exactly what we needed

Great find! Lovely location right on the waterside. Modern, clean, comfortable. The pub is great, dinner was good, breakfast was excellent. Staff are all very friendly. I'll definitely stay again!
