The Fountain Inn

As usual, the fountain provided the perfect place to stay for my work trip, great food, lovely staff, great!!

Situation in the Forest of Dean was excellent for walks and peace and quiet. Inn itself was quiet and the food was excellent

The only small problem o had was that the lid on the toilet didn't stay up as the flush was put in a poor position.Also my cold tap didn't work.but these are minor problems.very comfortable foot very good beer very good,and Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Lovely , friendly inn - good beers and food I would suggest a back bedroom as the road can become noisy from 4 am ish.

Great stay, cleanliness was second to none, dined in both evenings and the dinners were excellent. Good choice of beer and wines at reasonable prices. Just one small criticism, dining rooms and corridors and bedroom all on the chilly side, although there was an extra heater in our room, which we did have to use.

Comfortable and friendly

We stayed at The Fountain Inn for a few nights, and couldn't rate it highly enough! The bedrooms were comfortable and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the food for both breakfast and dinner was great. We would definitely stay here again.

The cleanliness was excellent. 5 Star The beds comfortable. Tea/coffee making facilities were provided as well as bottled water. Toiletries were provided in the bathroom There was an excellent choice on the breakfast menu which was very good. I cannot comment on the standard of the cuisine as we didn't dine there in the evenings, due to having made other arrangements to visit a relative. However, I would have liked to, as the ambience, standard and choice of the cuisine at The Fountain was inviting. I have mobility problems but was able to manage the stairs. However, for safety's sake I would recommend a handrail on the wall by the shower, which would be useful for any level of mobility. The unusually hot weather meant that the bedrooms were very warm. There was no air conditioning but an electric fan was provided which helped a little in circulating the air. I would definitely stay there again.

Loved it great staff excellent Food don't forget to book they get very busy. Plenty of parking great beer. Lovely location.

As soon as you walk through the door you can sense that your stay is going to be an enjoyable one. Greeted with a friendly smile we were taken to our room through clean and tidy corridors. Nice room clean and tidy. We liked the food and the choice of ales very good. WiFi good at the Inn, but if you go outside no service at all. Lots of interesting local history around the walls to be perused. Visited several local attractions in the wonderful forest of dean.

A lovely country Inn on the edge of the Forrest of Dean. Lovely friendly owner and staff. Good home cooked food, both breakfast and evening meals highly enjoyed. I would recommend. The only slight negative was that the mattress in room 9 was a bit on the thin side, but i still slept well.

Great difficulty finding hotel as it is not in Lydney as your site stated but is some 3 or4 miles outside at Parkend.

The room was clean and fresh. The staff were welcoming and the food was very good. I have stayed here quite a few times whilst on business and I find it a relaxing place to stay.
