Clean room/bathroom. Lovely staff. Good breakfast

This hotel is situated in a lovely small town and in my opinion it is the central hub of the area. This hotel had everything and would be perfect for a weekend staycation. The restaurant and bar attached had amazing food, seating and atmosphere. You could spend the entire day on the property enjoying the place and amenities. Our room was small but immaculately decorated. I highly recommend this stay

We stayed in the family suite, the radiators didn’t work so the room was freezing. The room was also next to the lift and the cleaners cupboard. Late at night people were using the lift which vibrated the room and then the cleaners were loud in the morning. When checking out the receptionist wasn’t even interested!

Lovely hotel, staff friendly, room lovely & breakfast excellent

The room was excellent. Decor was nice but one over done. I did not feel I was staying in a hotel. The shower room was bright with a frosted window giving natural daylight. My room had a fridge and snacks available in the room. I needed a few more blankets and I was easily accommodated. The staff were lovely and obliging. I truly wish I had more time to spend here and explore. I will be back.

room was fine no 70 - was a bit close to the lift and lots of coming and going noises but was ok for a short stay room was very good size and nice elements like coffee machine / fridge and hamper bathroom nice and warm and shower great and hot restaurant is fine - food good bar staff very good floor staff ok - nice people but not very attentive lots of time waiting to be served and never checking once food served to see if need anything or another drink .. so in end you don't bother ordering anything else . so its pleasant but not made to feel special and at both breakfast and dinner no one came to clear my plate for at least 15 minutes the cappuccino made for me was delicious and the corn and courgette fritter was superb and nice to have something more interesting on the breakfast menu the caffetiere of coffee was disappointing and quite weak

Friendly staff, but overly expensive for what it was, dated bedroom interiors, floor tiles missing grout in bathroom, stains on bedroom carpet, shower more of a drizzle than a waterfall. Poorly laid out room, obv designed by someone who does not use the room. For instance, one relaxing chair in a double room where there was a lot of space for two chairs, or a small sofa. Very noisy selfish guests returning to rooms in the early hours, A sign up asking people to consider sleepers after hours might have helped. Restaurant cold with atrocious "music" and very slow service. If you have events on - hire extra staff to cope. Not at all relaxing. Will not be returning.

All great but on a number of occasions now the wait for breakfast has been ridiculous - up to 30 mins for eggs on toast. Our business frequently uses this hotel for team bookings and our days are often running late or having to move agendas around because of how long breakfast takes - or people are having to go without because they have to leave. You're becoming famous for this issue, please sort it!

All staff were outstanding, everyone was extremely friendly kind and helpful

I love everything about this property. The rooms are massive, well appointed, and adorable. Heated towel rack - 2 sets of cookies and coffees/teas - seating area (even in the lowest priced room) .. I stay in a lot of hotels (200 a year) and this has to be one of my all time favourites. So much character - front desk staff wonderful ! Adorable in every way

We had a lovely stay at The Great House. Everything felt calm and organised, the room was clean and the bathroom was lush. We stayed in a 'cosy' room, which probably didnt need the chair in it making it even more cosy, but as we basically just needed the room for sleeping, it was perfect (warm as the windows dont open far, but there was a fan). The attached restaurant, The Coppa Club was a great place to while away a sunny afternoon and we met family for dinner there too. Food was delicious, the reservation was slightly messed up by them and a discount was applied without having to ask - always a green flag in my opinion!

The property was clean, staff friendly and the dining options were very good. Great location right on the river. Room was a good size and clean just slightly too hot - a fan was provided but was then noisy.

The purpose was to have a relaxing weekend away, and that's what it was. The Great House was a lovely place to stay.

Lovely room, great food

Booked the hotel for the Rewind concert at Temple Meadows staying there for three nights. The room we were allocated wasnt 'cosy ' it was small,there was no air conditioning with electric fans in every toom on for 24 hours. I asked upon check in if we could obtain alcoholic drinks after 11pm ,we were told that it wouldn't be a problem as the concert didn't finish until 10.30pm. We finished at the concert on Friday as planned and reached the hotel at 23.10 The night porter was on duty and told us that we could only purchase full bottles of spirits,wines or beer as he was on his own and no bar staff was on duty. We subsequently ordered wine and three ciders that we had to pay for and couldn't be added to our room bill !!!! The night porter said it was a 'pub' not a hotel and drinks had to be paid for upon receipt. Upon checking out on the Monday morning I tried to give positive feedback about the service after hours and it was quite apparent that the staff weren't interested. The weekend stay wasnt what we expected and we want be stopping there again.
