The Harts Head

I travelled by train. Note that the hotel is nearer to Settle station than Giggleswick station. There is a decent size car park at the back and a few spaces in front, although I obviously didn't use them. Buses stop outside but I'm not sure how frequent. Breakfast is included in the price. I particularly enjoyed the full English; the smoked salmon and poached eggs were also very good. Dinner is available in the restaurant; a bit dearer than what I'd normally pay, but worth it for the quality. The single room was small but adequate with a bed and a dressing table/ desk. As well as a kettle in the room, they provide complimentary bottled water and fruit juice. Also fresh milk.

We have recently enjoyed a four night stay at the Harts Head. What an absolute gem of an hotel for anyone staying in North West Yorkshire. The staff are incredibly friendly (in common with most northerners), the hotel is very well positioned in Giggleswick, the bar and dining room are nicely furnished and decorated and the rooms are warm and comfortable with excellent beds and great TV. Tea and coffee making facilities were excellent, along with the complimentary supply of fresh milk and cartons of orange or apple juice, which were an unexpected but very welcome touch. The food in the dining room, both for breakfast and evening meal, were truly delicious and the menu selection for dinner is extensive (try the rice pudding!) with something for everyone. Car parking is extremely convenient and secure. This is a cracking base for anyone wishing to explore the area and comes very highly recommended. I would not hesitate to stay there again in the future.

Brilliant, helpful staff. From the moment we checked in we felt welcomed after a 14 mile walk around the peaks. It was just the break we needed in a quiet pub. The food was also amazing!
