Love this little gem of a hotel. Quirky and all the rooms are very different but always comfortable. Staff are always very helpful and welcoming and breakfast and wifi is included which is a nice touch at this price range. Don't expect 5* or a perfectly maintained hotel but you will have a comfortable and great value stay in a nice location with plenty of free parking.

I had a lovely stay. The location was perfect for me and the receptionist or manager was really helpful and thoughtful. He gave me a room with a bath as requested, helped carry my luggage and provided a quiet space for a conference call with tea and coffee. I couldn’t fault the service. And an ample continental breakfast was included in the room rate.

I loved this quirky hotel. They bent over backwards to please us and although neither the bar nor the restaurant were operational they allowed us to bring drinks into the hotel and provided glasses and ice for us. the bedroom was huge and the bed was a queen bed and really comfortable. Yes there are things that could be done to improve this hotel but I loved it

Terrible service from this hotel. I could no longer stay at this hotel due to a family emergency occuring on the day I was supposed to check in. Contacted the hotel to which they refused even a partial refund. Very disappointed when you’ve paid £125 for 1 night ! Will not be booking here again.

I wouldn’t really say I’m a fussy person, I can put up with a lot and I’m quite resilient but my ‘stay’ at The Jersey Arms hotel was a very good way to force some impromptu character development and really make me contemplate a lot of my life choices. Being honest the receptionist was a sweetheart and did the best that they could, but the hotel was a different story entirely. From the moment I walked into my room the very strong potent smell of damp and mould hit me like a wall, before realising that there was thick, fuzzy mould growing in the bottom of the wardrobe, this was also accompanied by paint falling off the walls and dirty sheets. I can confidently say a hotel has never made me cry before but this one most certainly did. The receptionist was kind enough to move my room, which was of equal poor form as the first one. The same horrible damp/mould smell, dirty sheets and plaster and all sorts hanging off the wall. Whilst I was issued a full refund by the hotel an Expedia very promptly as I type this review I just want to preface, this review is in by no way a petty complaint. I would just like to warn others to think twice about booking this hotel, as the cheap price point does in no way justify the condition nor experience of this hotel.

Decent value for money. Room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Staff were friendly on arrival but it is worth noting that reception isn't always staffed so it can be a bit hit and miss trying to call the hotel. The following could be improved: redecorating as the paper is peeling off the walls and ceiling in bedroom 2, upgrade the continental breakfast with some meats and cheeses. It is worth noting that if you want to eat out or go for a drink you will need to drive or get a taxi as there is very little/nothing in the village. This is an old building with plenty of charm but walls are thin and floorboards creak.

Half eaten biscuit under the table, half drank water on the windowsill when we got into the room.
Absolutely freezing even with the storage heater in the room.
The bath was broken water pouring out from the top unsealed and very shabby.
The room was not clean and very shabby.
Went to complain in the morning but no one was there so just left the keys.

The rooms were very dated and basic, and there was no adequate heating. We were given two small portable heaters, which were ineffective given the size of the room. When I asked at reception for additional heaters or for the radiators to be turned up, I was told they could not provide more than two heaters due to power limitations, and that the heating operated on a timer from 5:00pm until midnight. Even when the heating was on, the radiators were only lukewarm.
The bathroom was unbearably cold — cold enough that we could see our breath.
The only reason we stayed was because the room was clean.
I would not recommend this accommodation to anyone and would not stay here again.
If you want it shorter, more blunt, or more formal for a complaints email, just say the word.

The room was freezing cold. There was a heater that didn’t work, when I ask at the reception.. they said it’s a top up and can’t do a. The heating on this cold winter was set on a timer which was not acceptable as it was freezing cold inside. The furniture was stained and had a strange smell . I was very disappointed with Hotel.com for giving this place a 3stars . After a long 4 hours drive , I had to sit in the car searching for other accommodation. I was extremely tired and this caused lots of stress .
