Lovely staff and very helpful

An absolutely amazing breakfast!

Safe parking very big breakfast and family room for two adults and three children

Lovely hotel with excellent food options - for dinner and breakfast. We had a large room, perfect for the family. Would recommend for overnight stays.

On arrival we headed straight to check in. Provided our name, was provided with the key, I had to ask timings of breakfast. I was not informed of when check out was or where our room was located. The room we booked cost over £100 for the night. Unfortunately was in a very poor state. The bathroom had mould growing in the corner of the ceiling, unsightly sealant around the bath area. There was also hairs from previous guest in the bathroom, and heavy dust in areas such as on the toilet roll holder. The door of the bathroom was dirty on the inside which hadn’t been cleaned for a while. The windows paint was all chipped and falling off. The pillow extremely thin and worn. Holes in the bedding. Very disappointed with the stay as we stayed here a few years ago and had a beautiful room well kept room.

Took a gamble on this hotel and not disappointed. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Very busy in pub / restaurant. Room just redecorated and was lovely.

The check in was efficient and the room was comfortable with a nice ensuite with a shower. The location was very good in the centre of Penkridge with onsite parking.

Excellent food, very charming and helpful staff

We stayed one night in room 5. The room was nice on arrival. Unfortunately the heating didnt work. The staff were helpful and brought a small portable heater but it wasnt really up to the task. We had to go to the front desk a couple of times as the water didnt get hot in the shower. The food and the staff were great but were let down by the room. They were clearly doing work on the facilities but we didnt feel room 5 was good enough for guests.

Overall we had a brill stay here en route to Anglesey. The room was nice and clean, the staff there were incredibly friendly and the place has an overall nice vibe about it. Would recommend it.

Convenient for Shugborough. Very disappointing check in from Receptionist. The hotel has started a painting and redecorating programme. Left it too late. Stair carpets look filthy. Room at the back is noisy from air conditioning?

Nice simple hotel with decent no-fuss meals.

The room was spacious and comfortable and particularly cosy, though a bit noisy on a Saturday night due to the restaurant and terrace below. There was no night porter and no where to return the keys before 7 AM. There was a very generous selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolat in the room.
