Hotel very conveinient to grandstand at Newbury race course, but rooms require update as are quite a lot of scruff marks on walls

Lovely hotel - a bit out of the way if you're not going to the races, but easy enough to find with a car. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice food in the restaurant. Very comfy bed and quiet surroundings. Would recommend.

Can't rave enough about the evening staff! So friendly and helpful. It was a quiet location.

We were given an easy access room as my wife was unable to walk at the time of booking. The room was well equipped for a disabled person, we found it lacked convenient shelves in the bathroom area for our personal toiletries.

I stayed there for one night for leasure reasons and am more than happy with the value for money. I was a bit "put out" when i arrived to check in and was greeted by a half eaten donner kebab on the reception desk and no staff but they did appear fairly promply and apologised for the kebab. The hotel room was fine in terms of size and had lots of mains sockets a very comfortable bed and useful bedside lights. Despite being a faily warm summers evening (in my opinion) the room was a reasonable temperarure and an electric fan had been left in the room for uae as needed. There were tea and coffee making facilities but no work desk so (again imho) im not sure how good this would be if i had to stay there for work purpoaes. I wasnt a fan of the small window which was treated in such a way that you could not really see out unless you looked through one of the holes in the treatment film however given the hotel is located between two apartment buildings i accept thia may be for privacy of both apartment residents and hotel guests alike but it did make it feel a bit claustrophobic. Hotel well signposted and easy to find. Good free parking next to hotel.

All good. Second time at the Lodge. Food good, staff so friendly has all you need for a quick stop over.

Bed was very comfortable. Looked like a super king size. Unfortunately it was too big for the room which made it cramped. Breakfast was good. Other choices in the dining area were not brilliant. Staff were very pleasant and obliging. Good for an overnight stay.

The property is fairly clean until you look more closely. The bathroom had mold and the room itself was very tiny, but the price was very reasonable. Staff was great. Food selections are very limited.

No racing so the hotel was quiet. A very comfortable stay indeed. Shame the male receptionist was indifferent and slightly offish. Choice of beer in the bar was a bit lame too and could have done with a little more comfortable seating. Room was a little tired - skirting board not fixed to wall for example. Attention to detail and easily fixed problems needed.

Disappointed with the fish and chips as it was just frozen oven fish which was tasteless and bland. It's a cashless place to stay so card only. The bed was lovely and comfortable

We got a post code for this hotel from Expedia. Then we were texted another post code which we used. Then we could not get through the barriers so were given a third postcode and had to make a big detour to be able to access the hotel and car park

I would like to say a thank you to Will who was there when I arrived late, he was very helpful & I appreciated that after a long day.

Excellent for Newbury racecourse and for railway station opposite.

Great stay

Very welcoming, hanging rail for clothes and no drawers. Bathroom was clean but could do with a revamp however room was very quiet. Had a fan and no air conditioning. Good cooked breakfast

Lovely hotel.great staff .stayed in standard room ..really large comfy bed ..room a little small for bed ..i would definitly stay again but i would pick larger room ..otherwise a great stay right on the racecourse .everywhere was immaculate.

You get what you pay for. Rooms are clean but basic. Restaurant menu is poor had to go into Newbury to eat. Breakfast acceptable.
